Newcastle (H) 2/10 Build-Up & Match Thread

Expecting home draws against the weaker sides is not a good sign. We should be expecting to win if we turn up properly.
It's more that our last 5 league fixtures against them have all been 1-1 draws, than anything else tbf.

Newcastle have looked awful defensively but actually quite attacking this season, could well be high scoring but a lot depends on whether we can actually finish chances and if we can handle Saint-Maximin who has been outstanding so far

The thought of him squaring up and isolating Coady is filling me with joy.

Thing is, they always seem to spawn draws in games we dominate. It would be nice to do them good and proper.

We've done that to them too a few times too.

No idea how this one will go, we play to our potential and we should win but it doesn't take that much thinking to see Newcastle getting a result either.

Hopefully Newcastle won't press us like Brentford did but you could see ASM having our defence on toast.

I want us to win this more than any other game this season. Sadly, I'm not going to get to see any of it as I'm travelling to London to support my partner as she's running the marathon on Sunday. That may turn out to be a blessing if past games against them are anything to go by.

Not really convinced that ASM is any more of a match winner than ADama.

Same player, hot and cold. In and out. Does stuff that makes people notice.

If either of them were that good they wouldn’t be playing for Wolves and Newcastle.

He's the very definition of a match winner, as is Adama, they can both destroy the opposition and be the difference. Just needs to be that day and that match

The reason we have Adama and Newcastle have ASM is the irregularity of those match winner days. More consistency of their stunning stuff and both clubs would be selling up the food chain for mega bucks.

I don't think you'll ever change either of them.

Giving Adama a massive contact is a ridiculously stupid thing to do.

ASM is more because of injuries. Not as explosive/powerful but is a far more all round player than Adama and he blows him out the water statistically in one of the worst teams in the league. If he carries on how he’s been this season then someone will come knocking. Only issue is, much like Traore, he will be massively overpriced.

Think ASM is a better all round player but those injuries stop any of the bigger clubs taking a chance.

ASM is vastly superior to Traore imo, more creativity, better finisher, doesn’t just hug the touchline, plays through the middle and causes absolute chaos and can pick a pass. If he didn’t get injured every few matches he’d be playing for a much better team.

Injury prone. If he wasn't he would be at a top side already.
