Non League Football.

Sutton Coldfield Town FC have reached the play offs in their division but can't get promoted. They play Bromsgrove who can get promoted. Bizarre!

http://www.sctfc.com/news/club-statement-on-why-we-cannot-be-promoted-this-s-2421982.html

Darlington reached the playoffs a couple of seasons ago in the Conference North but were replaced in the play-offs by the team that finished directly below them as their ground didn't meet the National League standard. That team, Salford, won promotion...

Did they? Salford won the title in the Conference North so didnt need the play offs. Only play offs they won was to get promoted to the Con North and when that happened Darlington had won that League

Just checked. The year Darlington got to the play offs they finished 5th but were replaced by...Chorley. Salford finished 1 place above them that year and Halifax won the play offs.

EH? They said yesterday that it was postponed due to another team (in the other play off match) previously using an eligible player!!

Well it looks like the issue is down to the team in the other semi (Stratford) - and that's had a knock on effect on Stourbridge's game, through no fault of either Stourbridge nor Alvechurch, and has been forced upon them the day before the game was due to go ahead.

Ah yes... Reached the final but Halifax got the win.

Still, they couldn't play in the division higher so were removed from the Play Offs.

Concord Rangers have been removed from the National South playoffs as their ground isn’t up to scratch. They are not being replaced. Bath v Wealdstone in the first eliminator tonight.

Other team in the Play Offs got a bye didn't they. Something to do with being 500 seats short for the Conference South but they are going in this summer but apparently that is not acceptable. They are harsh bastards in the Lower LEagues

Yep. Have to have 500, covered, seats in stands at your ground. Only have 450? tough

Tough especially as they have provided proof the work is being done in the summer

After a lot of conversation, Stourbridge and Alvechurch announced yesterday that their play off semi final will be held on Monday at 3pm. Phew - end of matter.

BUT NO!

The FA have now intervened and are forcing them to play it on Sunday. And it's not even clear if the game can be played on the Sunday, due to the commitments of the cricket club.

How the fuck is this farce being allowed to happen?!

And now the date has been confirmed - Saturday 3rd May - AT ALVECHURCH. So Stourbridge lose their home advantage due to this absolute nonsense from the league. But they can't host the game on a Saturday so it's the only solution.

Absolute shambles, that has cost them promotion. Such a shame.

Farewell to Gary Hackett - done a great job over the years. That win over Northampton was legendary, one of the best atmospheres I have been in.

Fylde v Salford for a place in the football league, first time in a long time I’ve had to wiki where a team is based as regards Fylde.

Salford win and are in the Football League. Ridiculous to play this game at Wembley.

Not if you're a player or a fan. Tamworth in the vase final '89 best football day as a supporter I've had. Trophy final at Villa Park paled in comparison.

The issue today was the clubs who got there, both new money and no fan base. I didn't watch the game, but 8k at Wembley would have made it feel souless

Salford have a new fan base. Before the takeover they had around 200 fans

Of a fashion, they averaged 2500 this season, but unlike the likes of Tranmere, Grimsby etc of previous years they don't have that wider level of interest that will take 10k to Wembley

Woking back in the Conference after 1 season away after a 1 - 0 win v Wellling

Looks like Gateshead are getting chucked from the Conference, I guess that will mean a reprieve for Aldershot.
