Pretty much nailed on that he'll go unchanged you would think, obviously I would play the other two full backs if they are fit.

It's turned into a pretty big game - a genuine chance for us to overhaul a direct rival going into two home games against weakish opposition (although we really need to start making more of them).

Got to say it has been a real positive how Kuszczak has come in and performed well from the off, likewise Afobe - already level on goals with Clarke despite giving him a 12 months start.

1999/0: W 1-0 (H), L 0-1 (A)

I dunno, I said that we were in a good position to get back into the promotion mix with games against weak-looking Bolton, Charlton and Reading sides, and we only managed 2 points from 9 out of those... so I think I'll reverse-jinx it.

Cardiff and Rotherham will be difficult games and we'll be lucky to get much out of them, honest.

Think Golbourne will start after subbing on yesterday. No telling what the deal is with the Doherty/Iorfa thing.

I think Golbourne will be brought back in, not sure if Iorfa is being rested or if he thinks Doherty is a better option. Obviously I'd rather we had Iorfa in as I think he is excellent.

Winning this would give a real boost of confidence (which I think we lack sometimes) ahead of two games at home.

Hopefully Iorfa will be chomping at he bit when he gets another chance and give us even more than he has already shown

I dont think Iorfa is being rested, I feel it goes back to the quote from Kenny Jackett That we were running out of ideas.
So the inclusion of Doherty and Afobe in the ten role is more about different combinations when going past the half way line.
Doherty runs infield more taking the attention of opposing midfield players which open up passing possibilities to RVLP.
Afobe stays behind the ball and offers a shorter pass through the midfield rather than Edwards who just runs forward without thought to the build up play.
Kenny for me is giving concessions in some ways to then gain from others.

I don't envisage any changes after such an emphatic win, still think Doherty is a liability at the back. I'd also much rather see Jacobs on the bench than EEL - with Golbourne and Iorfa already on the bench plus Hause playing who can play CB it seems excessive and only highlights how much KJ hates Jacobs.

If you think Kenny Jackett hates Michael Jacobs, you probably also think that he despises Sam Ricketts, abhors Liam McAlinden and detests George Saville.

Ok maybe hate is the wrong word but I'd love to know what's gone on there.

Yes, it would be nice to know. Does he think that Michael Jacobs is temporarily off-form? Not physically strong enough for this division but with potential if we go up? Doesn't fit in with the current style of play?

If he didn't see a future for him, surely he would have sent him out on loan or drop him from the first team squad?

I think he'd have gone on loan had we signed one more attacking player. The odd thing is if it was just form that's not a reason to not throw him on for 15 minutes when we need a goal such as against Charlton/Blackpool, he's still very capable of pinging one in the top corner from 20 yards you would think. He's only started 3 games (2 less than Leon and Saville). Possible that he doesn't offer enough energy as Edwards or goal threat as a striker but from where I'm sitting he's perfect for our system. Maybe an attitude issue or something but it's weird that nothing seems to have come out about him one way or another.

I think it must be his attitude rather than KJ doesn't think he is good enough. He hasn't had the opportunity to prove he isn't good enough.

I can only guess he isn't bothered enough about fighting for his place. I'm sure if he was putting the effort in and really banging on the door for a place KJ would reward it. It's just frustrating.

Agreed, he was probably my favourite player last season. Exactly the type of player we have lacked for years and seemed like he was only going to get better. He's still young and I hope he has a future here.

Kenny Jackett's track record at Compton make it hard to believe that he'd keep anyone who isn't bothered enough about fighting for his place in the first team squad.

The situation is really puzzling.

Can anybody recommend a good site that streams the English games?
I think there's a chance ours will be on tomorrow as Soccer Saturday will probably feature it as they don't have FA Cup rights.

Far from being a bad apple the inclusion of Michael Jacobs in the match day squad on occasion suggests he is a model professional just waiting for an opportunity. Has he been given fair opportunity or managed well this season, thats a different but possibly more appropriate question.

Looking at their midfield and forward options including the bench they appear a very strong side offensively for this level. Now they've got rid of their pet project manager they are in form and I personally believe will go up via the play offs.

That said a defence of Olsen, Bassong, Martin and Whittaker is poor. Olsen is the only one I'd want here and he is very attacking rather than defensively minded. They are set up to play into our counter attacking hands so should be a good game.
