We had chances of course and very good ones but no one can say we played well apart from the first 20 minutes there. I've said this all season and said it last season sometimes we are just too deep and it really doesn't benefit us against sides like this whereas it does against teams like City who leave enormous spaces to counter against. I do feel like i'm infinitely more negative sitting at home but i just feel we aren't at our best right now and that's a shame it's come right at the end of the season. Also could someone find the Jota that was playing before lockdown before Tuesday as well because we're going to need him.

Yeah. Fully expecting the standard “don’t understand the negativity in the matchday thread“ comments.

I don’t care what anyone says, we won’t win this tournament with those tactics. They were no mugs but we have much bigger tests to come and you can’t hang on for 40 odd minutes against that kind of opposition. Rui got us out of jail (as did VAR) tonight.

Still, delighted to get through. Another beer is about to be cracked open!
