Parliament Thread

Jez also made the point that having away fans in the quadrant has alarmed some Wolves supporters in the Stan Cullis Stand because they were not used to seeing them there

Possibly the strangest comment I have seen

Julian Dent asked why Dicko had been allowed to go off to play for Mali if he was not fully fit

Mr Dent needs to brush up on FIFA rules regarding call ups. Clubs can do fuck all if the Country wants the player with them, fit or not.

Jez comes across pretty poor in there, even for his usual arrogant self.

Written word v how he said it might not help. The minutes read like a tired old chat though, Nothing new seems to be raised and Jez and Co are getting bored of saying "manager will be backed" "fuck off the liquidator is not returning" etc etc

It's more the fuck the fans attitude with the Derby comments.

I actually think it's time they knocked the FP on the head.

The Fans' Parliament is a complete waste of time. Forgive me if I'm wrong in this assumption but all I see is a group mostly comprised of hand-picked individuals asking the same questions over and over again. The Liquidator is the one that annoys me the most - why can't people simply accept that it's gone forever?

Indeed. It may be the way it's written but jez's attitude stinks throughout that whole article.

I know I wasn't there this time, but the whole concept is old and tired. The same questions come up. Video screens, safe standing, liquidator...

Really I am struggling to see any benefit now.

Like I say I think the meetings are just a pain in the arse for them now. 99% of stuff is just repeated so the answers seem to be given with "how many times do we have to answer this" attitude. Problem is, if they end it they will have fans moaning they have cut them off (same fans who currently say it's a load of Jez lovers and it's a waste of time)

The edict to all of the members to not publish the minutes before the club does sits uncomfortably with me, particularly as it takes them 4 days to do so. Jez's answers do sound withering, even in the club's own version of events

I was there for the very first one, that was eight and a half years ago though. I told Jez to appoint Mick, so you can praise me or hang me on that one. I think what started as a noble concept has become a sounding shop for the club to test their great ideas. Sad, but meh.

He's also lied over the away ticket sales, as the club receives 5% commission on our sales to cover costs.

Regarding booking fees for away games, Jez said this was the only way the club generates revenue to cover costs for away trips as all money from ticket sales was always handed to the home club.

34.2.3 For League Matches only, the Away Club shall be entitled to a commission representing 5 (five) per cent of the aggregate sales (exclusive of VAT) of tickets sold on behalf of the Home Club, unless otherwise agreed between the Clubs. The Away Club shall submit a VAT invoice, in respect of the commission due, to the Home Club within five working days of the date of the match taking place.

....

Just received my notification e-mail about the next meeting, on 11th February. Agenda items need to be with the club by 4th February, so anything you want me to ask, stick it in here. I will then pass those on to Paul at the club.

Can we hang permanent banners on the video walls like last week. Not sure Sir Jack is what I'm looking for but something is way better than the usual eyesore.

Why when there is a Young Wolves foc game does the club want to charge the parent a booking fee for the Family Enclosure when it is impossible to book online as the system does not let you do so when you cannot buy a ticket without a child?

Can you ask whose idea was it for the wanky poll on whether all fans should get early bird prices.

The astute among you will have noticed that I am on here a bit, when I would be expected to be at the parliament. I haven't gone. My choice.

Reasons: too much going on elsewhere.

1) Office moves, plus also my stepkids dad has lost his au pair which means we are pretty much in full time looking after the kids and this is the one night off from it in a while. I am fucking knackered and talking about Wolves nonsense is not how I want to spend it.

2) I REALLY object to the requirement by the club that any comment about the parliament must wait until the minutes come out. Far, far too Pravda for my liking. It also just accentuates the fact that the parliament has become a talking shop where you just toe the club line.

3) It is dealing with the financials tonight and being done solely with those financials being given to parliament members on the night to then somehow make comment upon. That is poor stuff. I have done board meetings for miles bigger organisations (FTSE 100) and you need to do board papers with a reasonable amount of notice (2 weeks is normally considered good corporate governance) to allow members to make constructive comment having digested the information. Pointless trying to disect accounts on the fly, it just doesn't work. I know this parliament isn't a board and they wish to be very coy, but that actually just drives home the point that this body really isn't working any more.

4) What really is the point? The main stuff put on the forum is the same as the minutes in the end. I am sorry but I can't justify it any more.

5) I am fucked off beyond measure of re-visiting points like safe standing, video screens, and the roof of the Stan Cullis EVERY FUCKING MEETING.

I leave it to you if you want the forum to have another parliament member. I will speak with Paul at the club and help getting it arranged for a new person if that is the way you think TWF should go. However, I just don't want to do it any more.

IF you want TWF to continue to have a parliament member please put it in here. Let us as mods know.

Fair enough Pad! I was going to say before actually, when you missed it before, that they just put the minutes up themselves, and someone on MolMix will too.

The Fan's Parliament is a great idea in theory but it stops there really, what has actually ever come from it?

what has actually ever come from it?

Deutsch got Mick the Wolves job
Some ticket ideas have come from it
We learnt how stressful it was for a turnstile operator
We learnt that some fans, no matter how many times they are fucking told, will not accept the Liquidator is not coming back
The buffet put on is of a good standard
