I'm enjoying Shagged, Married, Annoyed with Chris and Rosie Ramsey.

Very silly, but some of the things people email in about really make me laugh. Something nice and light to listen to!

Quickly Kevin is back on Monday (was meant to happen months ago so no idea what caused the delay) and they are going big on the 1st epsiode - Straight in with their review of the 3rd book from, potential Booker Prize winner, Steve Bruce

Gossipmongers is very funny. Pretty much just Joe Wilkinson and others reading out local gossip sent in by listeners but better than that sounds.

And Dear Joan and Jericha is back and even more filthy.

Just brilliant, again.

Really need Bruce to get writing again

DEFENDER! has a ludicrous plot, even by Steve Bruce's standards. Shame to see Leddersford go 2-0 down again too, this keeps happening Barnesy. Sort it out man.

It has no plot!!

I just loved that Quickly opened the story with a Jag advert

Imagine if something cost you 50p to design, and you made it look like it cost 5p.

Outstanding work.

Sometimes I think I'm a pretty good writer. Then I see a real pro at work and start doubting myself.

Properly snorted my coffee as they covered that section of the book and it got better as Barnes then realised it could be an Englishman pretending to be foreign. Everyone is a suspect again

Caught up with it this morning.

Now, this is the late 90s and Steve Bruce has a bit of a walk-on part for a journalist with the Manchester Evening News (he appears once and never again). Not even clear if he actually says anything, he's just there at a press conference. So all you need to do is make up a name. How hard can it be?

So, what does our literary hero call him? "Paul Ince". FFS!

Maybe Ince asked to be a character in the book....hoping he would get a big part rather than 1 mention.

But then he mentions real life players out of nowhere too, it's all so odd.

Muddles himself up with his fake teams as well :icon_lol:

Birkpool (guessing the spelling). He gets so confused talking about them he fills up a stand with their fans in a game they are not involved in.

I still don't understand how he could have played for Mulcaster United (and won the Champions League with them...scandalously never got an England cap though and briefly considered throwing a huff when asked to help MI6), but Manchester is also prominent in the book, while the real Alex Ferguson and Denis Irwin also get mentions.

The work of a troubled man.

The fictional Steve Barnes would definitely be a UKIP/Brexit/Farage fan.

Nice to see Brucie operates in a fantasy world where he's a bit of an idol for 10 year old Brazilian kids too, long after he's finished playing.

I think my favourite part of the book is when he is in Brazil and has a few hours to kill....so hits the all you can eat buffet.

Listened to that Wolves fancast/ podcast thing. They do not represent the wrestling community and represent the Wolves community badly

A kid runs up to him and shouts "Steffa Barnsa! Steffa Barnsa! United-ie" :icon_lol:
