The way some talk about his track record as if the first 38 games just didn't happen is a bit weird, I've got to say. It's not as if he won a competition at Benfica, fucked ten games up and then landed at Molineux.

He wasn't on my radar, and probably wasn't on anybody's. I absolutely detest the 'process' that's led to his coronation. But he is a title winning, and record breaking manager - both of those things are irrefutable.

It's pretty clear that Nuno was sacked - because of underperformance, and a year of some pretty rancid football. Despite the injuries, he absolutely wasn't getting a tune out of the talent available. Obviously there were plenty of mitigating circumstances, but there was also precious little evidence that he had it in him to put it right stylistically, and the 'old way' had been found out.

Lage comes with very little reputation; it's a small pie chart, but the overwhelmingly bigger slice is one of front foot, attacking play - which is what the fans want, and it's the only way to get the best out the likes of Neto.

I'm not going to sit here and say I'm all aboard the Brono train - he comes with risk attached, given the small sample size of his management career, and also the fact that between us I doubt we've seen one of his sides play league football more than a couple of times. Our only feelings on how he plays are based on other people's analyses, youtube videos, and statistics. I think that's one of the major reasons for the mixed reaction - we haven't really got a clue how his team played, or why it fell apart. Maybe Jorge and Jeff know more than us on this one.

My tolerance level for idiots is extremely low. When you can't even ask someone a question without a dickhead post it gets past a joke.

I’m all for people asking a question, but your style seriously grates - your “I want to hear x, y and z right now” just smacks of impatient entitlement.

Also with Lage.

Who wouldn't sign for a 2-4 win over the Vile? Or a 5-0 smashing to win a cup?

What? Asking the guy if he knows Bruno personally? Are you serious?

If I wanted to analyse a couple of key games (good and bad) from his time as benfica manager, which ones would you say sun up his time best?

For good: Any league game of his in the first season.

For average: Any league game in the first half of his second season. Benfica won a lot of games, but in some it was a struggle, win some wins by a goal fallen from the sky at the eleventh hour.

For bad: Europa league games, imho.

One for Redvictor

Not much in that though. Same stuff JDR said he would say. I guess the only thing he has left to say is "see you in a month"...

BTW, i'm not the only one on here who would like to know our plan for the upcoming season, but it seems the only one on here to get shit if i say it.
Like i said before, people on here can have an opinion, but how that opinion is reacted to all depends on who it is, not how it's worded.
