I know it sounds silly, but I didn't want to talk about it in the farewell thread.

Simple question - who next?

I'm all aboard the Graham Potter Express. He plays the kind of football I love to see. If his Brighton team had Neto and Raul I think they'd be top 7 - I think he could get a really high performing, entertaining tune out of a playing staff and budget that we can offer.

Genuine apologies if people think this is crass and in poor taste.

I'll set up a poll of the top options tomorrow

I would be very happy with Potter, so suspect he'd be hard to prise away from Brighton.

Don’t know anything about the foreign options. But UK based I’d be happy with Potter. Would probably be happy with Gerrard too but there is certainly a lot of risk there but at the same time possibly more reward.

Of the Portuguese coaches linked

Bruno Lage? Fuck No.
Sérgio Conceição? Fuck No.
Rúben Amorim? Yes but unlikely.
Pedro Martins? Yes.
Paulo Fonseca? Yes.

Amorim, or I wonder if Lopetegui might be interested again...

British based - Potter for definite.

abroad, really no idea as we’d just be going for a Portuguese type

I don't know any of the runners and riders that Fabrizio has pointed us towards anywhere near well enough to judge (Lage, Conceição, Faria), and I don't think it's particularly likely that the club go after an established Prem manager, so I don't know really.

Pure conjecture, but do things like Adama stalling on a contract until now and strong links to Vinicius suggest we've already chosen our manager.

I don't understand why Adama contract talks would start being more positive just at the time Nuno leaves

I'm glad Gattuso's name doesn't appear to be getting bandied around anymore.

If you'd asked me a few months ago I probably would've said Jesse Marsch but that's off the table now.

Wouldn't mind Potter - feels like he has the acumen, just needs better tools to work with.

Don't honestly know much of the Portuguese listed but I imagine it's the way we'll be going.

Well if we're taking Fabrizio Romano's tweet as gospel then Conceição and Lage were 2 of 3 considered. Makes sense that the 3rd would also be a Portie.

Might not have 100% chosen the manager but we could be giving players an assurance of the direction we're heading in.
