Post Covid football attendance

Just a thought. If empty stadiums are planned for foreseeable, shouldn’t we just crack on with the Steve Bull?

That's what should happen. Should have at least one tier completed by the time fans are back in the stadium

Uncertainty isn't going to help them make that decision.

In all likelihood they've got a pretty big window to do a considerable amount of work in but that could change. They haven't even got planning permission yet so absolute best case they're 5 months away from making a real start and that's if they've got a design ready to submit the application right now. Chances are they're still some way away from that so you're probably into the new year before you're making any progress and who knows what the picture will look like by then? Your window of opportunity might be significantly smaller and suddenly you've got a new season sneaking up on you with a stand missing.

there's too much wrong with what glasgo is saying to bother rebutting to (I'm assuming you guys have been arguing about it in the other threads), but

it's amazing how many people still don't seem to grasp this ^

I live with someone immuno-compromised and while I'd likely be fine if I got covid she might not be. Sorry that I'm not willing to risk virus-murdering my significant other for the sake of the stock market.
Everybody grasps it but you can't expect people to put their life on hold for a long time.

Problem is most people have pensions that rely on stocks, all our services rely on income from tax, there may not ever be a vaccine. As a H&S proffesional I ain't getting into a bunfight but you have to balance risk and protect people as far as is reasonably practicable.

My very good friend (ex) has leukemia, of course my advice to her is stay in do not have contact with anyone, she is on PIPS and rarely left the house before. So the money side doesn't apply.
Living with someone who is at a increased risk is obviously very difficult and there just aren't any easy answers. If I was with her I would be exactly the same.

So the answer is there isn't any answer.

As for football it's just a part of life if it was no football ever or no pub ever I'd choose the pub.

If I was 20yrs old and this had been going on for a year I'd say sod this I'm off to live in Sweden.

I'm sure it will get to a point with or without a vaccine where people do and are allowed to take their personal circumstances into account and asses their own risk, and therefore I'm sure (and would hope) with or without a vaccine that football with crowds will return.

Its just a long long way away from that yet I'm afraid.

Sadly the governments approach of getting things very partially running (particularly things that suit them and their hedge fund mates without risking their families) sooner will see this go on longer. Rather than a real concerted effort to push minimise the infection I think they've gone more for the, 'keep it manageable while getting people working as quick as poss' approach regardless that that will actual delay a return to real normal life, infections I expect will remain steadyish rather than fall rapidly as they were.....meaning further stages of 'back to normal' will be delayed and delayed, its ok though cuz they've got you working (you can't actually enjoy anything you used to work for but they aren't bothered about that are they).

ahh gotcha

sorry I'm still new to this reading thing, english is my 2nd language

It's only halving what they'd have to pay if there aren't any games at all not the full pot

That’s not what it says - it says if they play, payments will be halved.

Premier League clubs face at least £300m bill to broadcasters
Broadcast money to be lost even if season carries on
Product not delivered when and how TV companies wanted it

That's what I said. It's half of the amount it would be if they didn't play whereas T3ch said it was half of the total pot for the season

Next season ban transfers in the EPL unless it is cash generated from a sale and tax it 5% to be shared with the leagues below.

I’m not against the idea per se, just there would need to be a mechanism to start the first domino rolling. I like the tax and pass money down the league part a lot.
