Pre-season friendly thread

Never been a big fan of friendlies, so won’t be going. However, ticket purchased for Leicester so very much looking for forward to that. I will just have to pace myself in the pub beforehand if I want to remember the match (or maybe I won’t)

Predictions?

We will score 4 against Celta Vigo. 4-2 to the good guys.

If anything it's because they have done too much. Double sessions every day, then some playing two days in a row, something is always going to give.

My guess is they think in the long run it will be of benefit because players will be better equipped to cope with the intensity. In short term there were always going to be injuries.

Maybe our genius of a new manager should have bothered doing some fitness work in pre-season. He didn't, according to Spiers.

I'm going to take that with a little grain of salt, as he wasn't even in the same country as the training camp and also, well... he's Tim Spiers, isn't he?

Alternatively, maybe the players are getting injured because they are not used to the unnatural positions they are having to take up by passing the ball forward and run into the box?

I'm going because it's the first home game of Lage's reign, and I haven't been to Molineux since Brighton at home in March 2020 which was a boring 0-0. I'm at least hoping there'll be some goals.

FAO: Kenny.

Don't know if you bought official parking but I had my confirmation through, and it looks like they let you out 10-20 min after full time.

We did, unless Bruno got them to look busy when the cameras were rolling.

That's been the case for a while, at least since I started using the official car park a couple of years ago when it became too much for my dad to walk any further. He's decided he's not up to going any more, which is sad as he first went in 1946.

I would love to be going on Saturday but will probably be at a standstill southbound on the M6 at around Lancaster at k.o.

Im going. My dad has an annoying habit of just texting "I've got your ticket for...X" without asking if I want one. He'll do the same for whatever backwater we draw in the League Cup.
tbf your Dad sounds like a top bloke. I haven't been able to drag mine back to Molineux since the 6-0 defeat to Southampton.

That should have dragged him in for life! An incredible atmosphere that night. We battered them 0-6.
I know. He used to take me to stand on the South bank and tolerated all sorts of shite. I suppose his patience (and his bladder) has worn thin in his old age.
