QuestionTime With PPB, Instead of Sir Robin Day .

I've been thinking about retraining as an accountant, watvhing Ozarks was an inspiration!

I'm good with numbers and can communicate them effectively to CEOs in a language they understand. Im less good with people and better off not being put in the front of house. I just wish I wasn't working in an industry in perpetual cycles of recession.

If you're an Ozarks inspired accountant, you'll have my business!

NB - I'm not the owner/operator of a drug cartel.

I've never once known what I want to do. Other than being a footballer but I wasn't good enough to do that.

I'm not even sure I enjoy writing, it's a chore trying to be funny all the time. I don't enjoy translation either any more.

I have a lot of days where I think I'd rather be dead than alive. I don't have anything to live for. I'll probably pick back up but it's not a good time right now.

I think retraining is a good idea for you.

What about college lecturer? You could teach people at an age where they're no longer wankers.

What do you like to do?

If I retrained, it'd be as a gardener.

Why don't you consider moving back to Germany? You love it there, it is a lovely place, you could rent your place out, you could still come back for most matches.

Head of a Human trafficking ring?

I'm not brave enough to get involved with all that, if it was me in the Ozarks it would have ended after episode 1 with me having a heart attack!

I don't think you even realise what you have going for you, obviously stop trying to be funny you're not in mine and Pablos league anyway, and you need to realise even this forum would be a lot worse without you, for God's sake we'd have to rely on Kennys memory, is that what you want for your fans, is it ??

nah mate, although I'd heard Wates had a few bad jobs last year, but they always seem to fly under the radar. Think this would have happended with our without the crisis. Interserve had a clear out not long back and they did a fuck you to their creditors, think they're no longer on a knife edge. Keir are holding on I think, selling their HQ and all that will buy them some time

Oddly mine is because we are successful theres not much in the pipeline, workload just about guaranteed for 2021.

I'm fed up of the industry, there's some almighty bollocks spoken at all levels and I've had enough
I can't imagine the HQ sale is going to be all that great for Kier, I mean shifting a semi-converted former stately home that's been used as offices for decades probably isn't the easiest thing to do at any point but in this market, what is anyone going to do with it? And when you know the seller is seriously struggling for cash anyone interested will look to squeeze the best deal. Think they've got a chunk of the HS2 work in a JV with someone though haven't they? That'll be a big help as long as they've not bought it.

This whole episode has given me a bit of a fresh insight at work to be fair, forced our hand into doing things that we don't usually bother with as a company. Giving me the opportunity to do things that wouldn't normally have to do as a result and whilst some of it is a bit tedious other stuff is really rewarding.

Can see it being a bit of a manic period for a while now though as we're starting to tender again since we pulled off one job in Birmingham just before this started and had another pushed back 12 months. Might be a struggle to fit that in with all the extra live site stuff we've been doing unless sites start to revert back to normality soon.

Paul makes a good point. If you want us to jump on board as blog editors, to really zhuzh up the funnies, we can free up our (mostly empty) diaries.

Another silly tennis related question stolen from Fivelive. Dan Evans is playing Andy Murray and has won the last 6 points having reeled off 6 consecutive aces. Murray still leads but what is the score in the match?

2 sets to 1. Evans served two aces to take the third set tie break and then served 4 aces in his first service game of the fourth set. So it is say 6-2 6-4 6-7 0-1

I think you are correct Paddy. That's how I've worked it out but I'll know for sure when they give the answer out just before 5pm.

Edit: Yes Paddy's answer is correct.
