REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

I'm guessing there will be a fairly straightforward way of extending the 90 days.
On a purely selfish level, we tour Europe quite a lot but unlikely to go for more than 3 months.

If it’s standard schengen style then no chance at all of extending beyond 90 out of 180. Going to be a bit of a fucker for work I think - might check out a proper visa via Holland.

There is, you get out the EU for 90 days,

No one could have voted for 'no change' - even if you wanted strongly to remain then the EU has to continue down the route of convergence & ultimately into a single country otherwise the tensions & opt outs will pull it apart eventually. A single currency with all required to use it & a central coordinating point would have been needed.

And calling those who voted the other way 'morons' is really not necessary.

absolutely right.

loving all the self righteous indignation from the forum miserable bastards!

Merry Christmas all! I hope you all have a fantastic day and a wonderful 2021!

Sorry, which economists have heralded a "golden age"?

And why is it a "victory" FFS?!

I am OUT but there is no victory and I find the media bollocks jingoistic and divisive. The close debate centres on Globalism and Nationalism. Please do not mistake Nationalism as a sense of superiorty or disclusion more of a contort against the danger of 'groupthink' . I find Centralisation whether it be state or corporate extremely worrying.

PS Hope you are well Deutschy.

The apocalypse predicted will not happen. The dissent on here now appears centred on not having reciprocal healthcare cover and lengths of stay. At least our democratic process will no longer be infested by failures like Kinnock and repeat resignees like Mandelson. The buck stops at Westminster. They are accountable.

Yeah! We've taken back the control of our borders! We can pass our own laws!

Amazing how other countries had no problem controlling their borders from within the union and we've always been able to pass laws but, hey 🤷‍♂️

All subjected to Freedom of Movement. Open minded on the merits of that although I always thought it was a corporate tool for cheap labour. Not always a bad thing when there is low demand for work or a failed work ethic due to high welfare. As it stands withupwards of 4 million due to be unemployed in 2021 thanks to Johnson it might be a godsend.

If anyone has the desire to read a longish initial analysis of the detail, the thread below is worth a look. As balanced as I have seen so far. Take home message for me is that the EU have conceded (relatively) unimportant areas to avoid a no deal in the knowledge that UK will have to come back to table soonish and secondly the NI question will also have us in a political stew again.

The golden age of Boris means he thinks he will stay in power until his term ends.
He has ballesed corona, ballasted brexit and got a no deal out of a deal.
The C word doesn't cover it
Got an official letter fro gov UK telling me what to do as a person who lives in Greece, took it to the police and they asked me frankly..... What the fuck does that mean?
No one has a clue what happens to us ex pats!

All negotiating rights and quite rightly. The main thrust in the cut is that Westminster is wholly accountable without outside interference from failures like Kinnock and multiple resignee Mandelsohn. By and large the detail is all corporate bullshit that serves the corporates. That will never change.

Mandelsohn?

He won’t last. ERG are not fans of this ‘deal’.

All they are interested in are their pockets not you and me. Forget nutters like Farage and these creeps the balanced perspective is afforded by the likes of Bill Cash.
