My dad always had Italian cars until swapping his Alfasud for a Citroen CX 2400 Pallas, a beast of a car 20 years ahead of its time.

My Italian grandad always had Fiats, English grandad was Vauxhall - Vivas then Chevette then Nova

Pigeon fanciers fear new Brexit rules forcing birds to be quarantined for long-distance European races could "kill" their sport. Under EU rules due to become law next week, UK birds must be detained for three weeks before they can be released in France for trans-Channel races. North East pigeon owners claim their birds would be unfit to race after being cooped up for so long. The Royal Pigeon Racing Association is seeking an exemption from the EU.

My Dad's 2nd car! (awful colour as well and this car followed up him owning a brown Mini)

Our family of 6 travelled down to Devon for a holiday in that car. Such a success we went on the train the following year. Thankfully after this car he lost his love of brown cars and we had a red Nova

This beast! We went to Italy in it twice, so roomy

My Dad had a lot of raggedy old cars - at the time I didn't realise how good this was and I just wanted him to get an Escort :(

I bloody love old citroens. Have dreamed about having a DS since forever, this would do too.

Me too mate, they have made some very futuristic and innovative cars. Dad's was a 1979 model and it had central locking, air con, power steering, semi-auto gearbox, electric windows and sunroof, self adjustable suspension - 1979!

Fucking hell, it's just dawned on me where the expression "cooped up" comes from!

My dad had one of these, the Ford Zephyr

That misnomer actually destroyed the intellectual property rights of the Hoover company to their own brand name.
