REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

Mogg is definately a cunt, a twatty cunt .... just amazed people can't land fish and sell it. There is always a market somewhere.

All this carping about musicians getting free movement - what about the rest of the UK? Plenty of moaning from a very privileged section, some of 'Who' actually supported Brexit.

Yes, but Roger won't be fooled again

Nicked off Twitter

On this day in 2012 Ed Miliband rejected the idea of a referendum saying it would lead to years of uncertainty and take a huge risk with our economy.

So instead of migrant workers coming here to steal our jobs they can now do it from the comfort of their own homes?

The eu banning vaccines from leaving the eu but wanting vaccines that are made in the UK to go there is an interesting approach.

Also from the guardians opinion section, made me laugh....

There is a true coach-crash quality to the EU’s reaction to being outfoxed by the UK on vaccine procurement. The commission’s pram has been dramatically emptied of all its toys. It’s like watching an endlessly patient and mild-mannered social studies teacher finally lose it and head-butt a pupil for beating him in a quiz.

Schadenfreude about more people dying is not a good look, particularly when living in the country worst affected globally.

It’s an odd thing to potentially ban exporting vaccine to the uk when they’re hoping that it comes the other way.
The good news for Alex the not so is that it’s taking all the headlines away from the shit show at the borders regarding imports and exports. The export freight costs at the place I work at have doubled since December. It’s no better paying for freight the other way either.

A 40ft out of China is about $10-11k a pop now about 5 times what it was a year ago. It'll end up being passed onto the consumer

EU not exactly covered themselves in glory with the vaccination approach. Whereas we seem to have done rather better. And the attempt to cut exports to us is petty and frankly not on.

However, broken clock right twice a day and all that. In balance I wish we were still in.

I thought the article was a really good one from the guardian (who are normally rabidly positive about all things EU), talking about how the EU trying to be joined up across all the member states slowed everything down and has caused a lot of the issues.

Quite correct. And free from that we were able to get all our ducks in a line rather quicker. This is a right mess now though. There are shortfalls occurring and suddenly everything goes a bit nationalist because governments need to think about their voters.

Macrons comments about the Astra Zeneca vaccine being effectively useless for over 65s are naughty, especially as that info seems to have been debunked.

Thought was the Germans who had put that out - though now debunked by their medics and will be given to all once they get it (the EU have only approved it today)
