The need to find distributors is an extra cost if you want to avoid large custom costs so there is little way around the complete fuck up Brexit is.

I despise people who voted for Brexit.
Even that is an export of jobs from the uk to Europe.

Everyone who did was either thick, deluded, opportunistic, easily led, racist, or a combination of the 5. I have every sympathy for those that voted remain whose lives have been torn apart, but zero for those who went the other way and are experiencing similar difficulties. There was enough info out there to make an informed decision

There was an article in the Gruniad yesterday regarding a cheese exporter. He used to send £30 packs of cheese all round Europe and had approx £250k of turnover from it. Disappeared overnight due to a £180 food export certificate required with each package. He had a government minister ring him up to offer support which was sorry I can’t do anything for you - Have you tried selling to the states or emerging markets? The reply was that shipping costs meant that it wasn’t price competitive.
Government department response - "Hard cheese"?

Yes agree there was enough info out there (for people that not blinkered enough to look) but there was scarcely any for 'if you do this, this is how you're going to screw this up for everyone', yes you'll curtail Johnny foreigner coming here and taking your job and you'll take back control of whatever it is you think you've had no control over, but worth the cost....never in a million years

Why are they suspending deliveries to the Republic of Ireland? This firm I'm with has trailers going to both north and south most evenings, to be honest having more hassle supplying the north as we are having to treat what is basically a domestic service as an export !

Something to do with Export Health Certificates.

Last month the Government produced the first statistics about trading with the EU since the UK left the Customs Union on 31 December. Even to those of us working in International Trade who were expecting a downturn the figures are startling. For the month of January exports to the EU are down 41%, worth £5.6bn and imports are down 29% which is a value of £6.6bn. It would appear that the Government’s ‘temporary’ measures to ensure goods continue to flow relatively freely into the UK have had some of the desired effect. The EU did not really ease any restrictions for goods leaving the UK hence the discrepancy between imports and exports.

My new shower screen has been stuck in some customs check for 3 weeks now. That alone is enough for me to say fuck you Brexit

Cant you get the wife to print you a temporary curtain, admit it'd be a thrill to be washing your bits whilst being viewed all around by the Gambian PM ??

I know its old fashioned but I tend to get most of my news from the BBC, yes I realise its far from perfect but personally I think its the nearest to unbiased you are likely to get (along with ITN and possibly Sky news). I just don't trust anything I read online and as I've said before adnauseum, I haven't bought a newspaper for over 30 years

Not any more. The new DG has previous for trying to get the licence fee abolished as he has perceived that the corporation has been overly critical of the Conservative party.
