Rugby League Thread

Jai Field is pretty damn fast, had a pass intercepted and caught him before he made it to the 40 yard line.

Great second half to the game, next 2 home games I'm missing unfortunately due to holidays including Saints at home, massive shame that, although the league is pretty much gone, we will want to go into the play offs at full strength. Looking forward to a trip to old Trafford!!

Happy, sad, annoyed, over the moon a whole lot of emotions tonight.

Had to miss the derby as we're on our hols in Brittany, but following it on sky website it's amazing to see us get one over on Stains.

The league leaders shield is probably beyond us but we have proven that we can beat them on a one v one game which bodes well for a grand final show down.

I know my audience is limited, but theres two cracking semi-final games this weekend as 4 clubs left a looking to get to the Grand Final, worth a watch if your at a loose end

Friday night 8.00pm on Sky Sports Arena second placed Wigan play an inform Leeds who recently beat us quite comfortably. Wigans attack has at times been breath taking to watch, Field and French are two great players, whilst Leeds have come back from a poor start to race into the play offs in good form although they had a bruising encounter against Catalans which saw a sending off and two sin bins for Cat

Saturday afternoon 1st place Saints play Salford in the Second Semi-Final which is live on Channel 4 at 1.00pm. Saints finished top but are dealing with a few injuries and have this season at least looked beatable, whilst Salford sailed through their play off game against a Huddersfield team who have faded badly and slipped well behind the form that had got them to the Challenge cup final and 5 minutes from winning it.

The winner of each goes onto play in the Grand final at OT, obviously I would love a Wigan v Saints final as they've been the best 2 teams, but who knows.

My friend has recently joined the Leeds coaching team.

That is about as far as my well wishes go for this weekend.
And a recent upturn in results, must be pretty decent!

It was one of the Hull teams that you follow wasn't it can't remember if it was KR or FC you follow, its pretty impressive that a town of Hulls size can keep 2 top flight teams going.

Well no arguments about that result, best team won. I can't live by the mantra that defence wins you games and not recognise it when I see it.

We were a little slow in the attack and I think Leeds were just better drilled, stupid sending off by Batty but can't complain.

Hoping for an upset by Salford but in truth can't see past Saints for the final and the win.

Loosely follow the Robins but only really a casual fan!

Mainly watch Nottingham Outlaws play in the lower divisions as most of my mates play for them!

Nice one, my lads just signed up to Telford Raiders (junior section) but he's over at Shrewsbury. Think Notts are one of the teams on the circuit, slim pickings around the Midlands!

Saints Vs Rhinos final it is.

Can't see past Saints to be fair, although Salford gave them a good game just think they'll have too much for Leeds.

Not a great weekend sportingwise for me🤣

Ah, I couldn't bring myself to watch the final but 4 titles on the trot has to be recognised as being pretty special. Lets hope to god that I don't have to be writing 5 at the end of next season

I see Kevin Sinfield is back on the fundraising circuit for MND with another crazy challenge, 7 Ultra marathons in 7 days.

I can't put into words what he has done for his mate, absolutely amazing and I hope he raises so much more money for the MND research than he already has done. Surely the chap deserves a bloody knighthood.

I loved watching the Saints beating the Whinos...

I can't say that I shared the experience, both teams loosing would have been enjoyable.

Batley in with a shout for the Super league?
TBF that's the answer I would expect from a Pie Eater 😉

Not sure if the Fox's Biscuit stadium would be deemed suitable for Super League?

I have no love of Leeds and I'm certainly not going to cheer on the plastic scousers!

I've no idea if it would pass the criteria for Super league but having been to the mend-a-hose jungle stadium it would have to be in pretty poor nick not to pass!

Strangely, when Hunslet won the play-off final, against Dewsbury at Headingley, to qualify for Super League our ground wasn't deemed to be fit for purpose. We had pledged redevelopment so it would meet requirements, but were knocked back because Wakefield hadn't delivered on their previous promise to do the same. Cas in the SL offered to ground share. That proposal was knocked back because Wheldon Road (The 'Jungle') didn't meet SL criteria!
