I've said it before and I'll say it again, once people find something else to do with their time, they don't really come back.

Everything we've done since Covid stopped football is pretty much an object lesson in how not to run a club. To the point of I don't think I ever even got my Olympiacos money back, a ticket for an event I literally couldn't go to. Nice one.

Shi is completely unsuitable to run a football club, Sellars is an Academy director promoted way beyond his means, Clark is a bluffer who'd do well to last three months as a recruitment agent, Wild is a nobody, Lage is ludicrously out of his depth and no-one, no-one above all this is keeping any of them in check.

We're 8th though. Yay.
Given i agree with pretty much all of this, it's quite incredible that we are 8th!

As I say, "we're 8th" is a total figleaf. As it stands we have no chance of saying "we're 8th" next season. Not that it means anything in the first place.

We play worse football now than I've seen from anyone other than Saunders. Worse than Hoddle, worse than McGhee, worse than Lambert, worse than the worst of Ken.

This is so key, and they don't get it at all. And they're also fucking up any hope of succession planning by making it really expensive and/or difficult for somebody that actually does fancy one or two games a season.

I've barely missed a kick this season through streaming ont' telly, Brighton I decided to not even watch, so fuck knows how people got the motivation to actually turn up.

But when I log into the android box at 14.55, and turn it off again at 17.00, I often wonder how the fuck I found the time to be season ticket holder. Like you say, once you stop, you stop for good.

And as well as time, the fucking money, man. Even back when I went you were looking at grand a year all in, which isn't a small amount, but it will have doubled even for people that come in from as far as Brownhills, given the cost of everything associated with going to the game with your mates. It's fucking mental, and the club (well, football in general) don't give a second's thought to the sheer size of the time and financial investment that goes in and around watching a football match. It's all just numbers on a spreadsheet to the cunts.

You know, I was actually thinking of you specifically when I typed that (and not in a horrible way). Like, in any other industry, you wouldn't actively piss off your best and most loyal customers. But they do.

I have transport costs of £0 these days, I don't have to drink in expensive pubs if I don't want to, I can afford a season ticket if I want one (and I'm fortunate in that respect, though as I say work is shit, I'm getting about 30% of the volume I did pre-Covid, people don't want to outsource to the likes of me because it costs money, but that really is my problem and I could just do something else). I'm thinking of stopping because the club treats us like absolute chumps, the manager is a bellend and we play terrible football that is of zero aesthetic quality.

Tell me again about Juan in Guadalajara and Lars in Aarhus if we're playing Rotherham in August 2023.

I think costs associated with attending, mainly travel are likely to have a growing impact on peoples decisions.

Ticket cost falls a long way down the pecking order behind eating, heating, and paying the rent or mortgage.

And all of those things are getting more expensive while wages don't rise.

It just isn't affordable any more.

Not looked at it properly, but another increase will do for me with a S/T next year.

Made sense when we went back up for a couple of years as other tickets were sparse, but it's not difficult now to find a 'single' seat somewhere if I want to. Will take a membership & do a few plus some away games again seeing as how half of the division will be Southern or London teams next time.

Just checked my bills and I've had an increase of over £1000 pa and we are not finished yet.

I don't know what I'm more impressed with, my continued resolve regarding not renewing or the fact that one solitary poster on here is actually a season ticket.

It was in use against Brighton wasn't it?
It hasn't been in use ALL season, that's what I'm saying. First 2 or 3 months it was closed.

So there were games at the start of the season where our capacity was lower and we sold out, we may not have if the GH stand had been open.

Next season (you'd hope) it will be open all season and potential to get tickets is higher as a result.

Me and the old man will renew it is disappointing how the season has panned out post Spurs away everything has been self inflicted. I definitely understand why some will jack it in especially for financial reasons luckily we can afford it so will continue.

As a bit soppy as it might sound with my dad getting on in age the nostalgia and feel good factor of going to games with him again over the last 10 years (after a decade of getting heavily inebriated pre and post games with mates) is something I don't want to give up.

2022/23 ST prices have been showing in peoples accounts this morning...

£590 behind the goals, £686 in the Steve Bull Upper
