I’ve seen a few polls flying around Twitter and the overall % seem to think the price increase is “fair” and that they “will be renewing”. This forum is definitely an anomaly. It’s so weird.

Whilst the majority of fans accept it, they have no reason to change. Would fully expect the same again next season, the season after that and so on.
Exactly. Talk about digging your own hole.

Without throwing out a Jacob Rees-Mogg style disingenuous argument about how the rich have it tough too, and inflation hits everyone (although I've just checked my bank account and no, I don't have TV contracts worth in excess of £100m landing there, maybe next week, eh) can the club explain how come my seat cost £514 in 2019 but £590 in 2022, but we have a worse team with worse results and worse football now? How has that happened, what's the rationale there other than "we can"?

It really isn't "fair" at all. It's milking a semi-captive market. Just so long as they know that 30-40% of them will fuck off as soon as we get relegated, and by then you've alienated a hell of a lot of other people who previously would have attended whatever.

Majority of people are stupid.

They sit there and say “you can’t expect a top 6 club with Championship prices”, without even understanding that the extra 900k (or £2.9m if you include the last two years rises) makes absolutely no difference to the club, particularly when they are making moronic decisions letting players leave on loan for free which have a far greater impact on the balance sheet.

The other one being “inflation is 10%” when none of the staff whether that be football/non football will be getting pay rises and they can increase the prices of their shitty burgers if they want.

Is it a total rip off, no. But it’s completely unnecessary. The extra money they make will be insignificant but it isn’t to the people they are taking it off.

The alternative is admitting that they're being screwed over, once you do that it becomes difficult to carry on going, and if you find it difficult to carry on going folk will stop watching the wolves, which folk love doing. Because folk love going to the wolves, they won't admit they're being screwed over.

Apparently Leicester can win the FA Cup and reach a European semi-final with tickets behind the goal £134 cheaper than ours this season.

It's a complete strawman argument, no I don't expect to pay £349 for a ticket like I did in 2017. I want to know why the price has gone up quite a lot since 2019 when we're a worse team and the club hasn't spent any money.

I am fortunate this year, I have been on pay protection at work for a few years and a higher than expected pay rise for everyone else has took me out of pay protection and I get the back pay to last September. That means I can get the money to pay for me and my lad up front and pretend it didn’t cost me £1300 plus. If the pattern continues next year and there is another hike of a similar magnitude there is no chance I could do it and I would either have to go down the DD route when my disposable income is already stretched…or tell my son he can’t go any more :)

Don't forget that those renewing don't necessarily agree that the increases are fair. I certainly don't but I still want to go for many reasons, only one of which is the 90 minutes of football. Meeting my mates and having time with my son and father over a beer in Sandwell or Handsworth before going to the Albion or Villa isn't an alternative.

If Next did the same before I buy my next work suit I would go next door to Burton's or TK Maxx. Football doesn't work like that and the clubs know it and use it despicably.

.
The club prides itself on its community work. Rightly so too, they do some excellent stuff and Coady in particular is right at the forefront of it.

How then, has the ticketing message morphed into "We're putting up prices because we can, not because there's been any material improvement in the product, and if you don't like it then you can fuck off because someone else will take your place"? Because you're talking to predominantly local, working class people when you say that.

Although in fact they still haven't "said" anything. Not a peep about it on the official site. Or Twitter.

Some would call that cowardly, I couldn't possibly comment.
When was the last time we heard from Jeff on anything significant?

Leicester are also increasing the capacity of their stadium/improving existing stadium facilities despite charging £134 less.

However will they cope?

Twitter has always been a mental place but recently it's becoming worse.

Not going to name them or anything as i'm not trying to single anyone out - this is one in a long line of stupid posts on the awful "tweets based on your likes" suggestion I saw this yesterday RE Sa.

"he didn't look too up for it from the start, even in the tunnel he was rubbing his eyes and looked a bit tired but everyone has days like that so i'm not too mad about it"

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Not sure you could pack as much drivel into so few words if you tried and unfortunatelty as social media gives this kind of bollocks a platform I'm really not sure if you can place much stock into any polls in regards to anything going on.

I think a better indication is the Bruno Lage's barmy army chant still seemed to be pretty loud. I think he will survive into part of next season at least.

If football support were actually like a free market, then you'd 100% support Leicester over Wolves, wouldn't you. Much lower prices, planning significant work on the stadium (a ground which is nearly 25 years newer than the stand we need to replace), a board that actually spends the money that the club generates, won trophies, play far better football, get rid of managers when they're obvious duds. Obviously it isn't and this is where we get stuck with what we have.

But then while a significant portion of our support gives them a free pass to do what they want (I still can't believe the general reaction from last week, not on here, just everywhere else) then why would they stop?

Cass is absolutely begging me to renew, it's a really shit position. If it was me and me alone it wouldn't even be a decision but I'm loathe to disappoint her. I'm also loathe to pay it as they will think I'm happy with the pricing when I'm far from it. I also have no real appetite to sit through that shit again for another season and pay a fucking ridiculous premium for the privilege.

Same with my twins. I’m starting to come round to the point that I’ll renew.

I was speaking to an esteemed member of the forum on Sunday who is coming around to the idea. I think those of us who can afford to will in the main renew and hate ourselves for it.

Mrs DW is encouraging me to renew, she reckons I'll miss it (as in the whole day, not just the match) if I don't, I also suspect she values a few hours without me mooching around the house :D

If we sack Lage before the deadline then there's far more chance of me actually doing it. If Liverpool had lost last night so they were out of the running for the title and hence we wouldn't have been on Sky/BT as it would have been a dead game, I doubt I'd have even bothered finding a stream for it, I'd have watched whatever the best match was on TV. Literally wouldn't watch us for free if it involved any effort at all. That's what he's done to me.

Me - fuck Wolves they’re not getting a penny out of me the money grabbing twats.

Also me - ooh, nice Wolves gilet..

Just went through my emails and they have auto renewed me...
