Sheff Utd (H) 17th April - Match Thread

It just looks suspiciously like our "line everyone down the middle of the pitch" shape that we ended up with vs West Ham, to the benefit of no-one...

Otasowie will not play, he had a reasonable 20 minutes out of 45 vs Chelsea, he has done nothing at all since. Vitinha would play in that scenario surely.

I also don't see us going to a back three for this one, we're playing one of the worst PL teams ever. They've lost eight of their last nine games. They didn't score in six of those. Lost all of the last four, scoring one goal.

Cheers Dan this has got a Cybertossis written all over it.

On Friday, when Neto went off injured, i was in despair, and would have took the draw there and then. Then Adama came out of his shell. Fulham are much better than Sheff Utd so we should pull this one off.......Just.

I think if Podence is fit Nuno will just play with what he adapted to.

agree would just start Silva now, maybe playing him with Traore and Gibbs-White/Podence behind them.

id like us to play a back four but doubt we will

Given the injuries and missing players I would go back 3, feel that is going to be too much temporary parts otherwise.

This looks an awful fixture to have now with our injuries. Good job we are pretty safe.
Rui
Boly Coady Saiss
Semedo Dendonker Vitinha RAN
Podence/MGW
Traore Fabio

It should be 0 0 . You just know it won’t be ! Mcburnie and Sharp to score in a two two draw?

I’m pretty pessimistic but if you’ve got injury and form problems surely this is the perfect fixture to play?

Well no. It is not. If you have such injuries and players missing against a team who averages half a point a game then anything other than a win is giving them points. If it was against a bogey six where little or nothing is expected then it’s not so bad if you end up with nothing. Well that’s my logic.

Sheff Utd are broken, lost 5 on the bounce and every game since they sacked Wilder. Score first and it'll be a comfortable night. Our only danger is players going through the motions like Southampton yesterday. It's one of the reasons I'd play guys with something to prove

A LOT of catching up to do on that side of things, so even VAR is helping us out

Moutinho is practically guaranteed to start this one.

Be Dendoncker and Moutinho in midfield, with Boly in the back three.

I'd like to see MGW as a ten (whether it be 3412/4231) for a few games but I'd be surprised if he started, even with this game being the first of many where we could experiment. Just don't think Nuno will do that though.

Didn’t they find out afterwards the goals were too high and the late equaliser may not have gone in?
They did.

That 0-0 in September 2000 was possibly the worst of the lot. Peak Warnock of just deliberately playing shit football. The horrible prick got sent to the stand as he was being such a twat. We had Robert Taylor up front. Crowd of under 15k (unthinkable at the time) as we had a bizarre fuel "crisis" (which wasn't a crisis).

Phil Jagielka might end up playing against us on Saturday, he was on the bench for that one!

Remember buying fuel from the 1 petrol station that had it, back in the days of living in Wales. Before crisis fuel was around 40p a litre...this place put it up to 99.9p because that's the max he could get on the price sign.
Pissed off at paying that but I would be delighted if it was that price today.

Around the same time I was fuming at paying £2 a pint anywhere in Manchester!
