Smart Watches

I've been looking at options a lot over the past couple of years... Never really thought I'd be bothered but my wife got me a Fitbit blaze 2+ years ago and it's been really good. Been looking for something that does more and ideally runs wear os. The Huawei Watch was tempting but never took the plunge due to the battery life. Then the Fossil Gen 4 almost hooked me a number of times. I think the Gen 5 with the battery saving options is the one I am definitely going for... I'm 40 next year and have been told this could be my present if I want to replace the blaze... Unless Google release a Pixel watch in the meantime!

Cool Phil. I'll let you know how I get on with it.

Yes I got one. Happy with it so far, though the battery life isn't quite as good as I was expecting. Does everything you could want though.

Nerdtastic!!

Anyone got a Garmin? I currently have a Fitbit versa 2, but the lack of GPS is driving me mad now I'm actually getting out and running or cycling.

Done some googling and Garmin seems to get the best reviews for proper fitness tracking. Looks a bit weird though.

Yes i have a Fenix 5 plus, love it.

Excellent GPS (locks quickly and has Glonass to run alongside it.), has on board storage so can play podcasts, music, excellent battery life (particularly in standby mode, uses about 8% a day) and looks good for work etc, especially if you move away from the plastic/rubber straps.

Thanks, that's very helpful. Not sure I can stretch to the cost of the Fenix (nor that I will get the benefits either), was looking at the forerunner or vivoactive.

I used to have a Garmin forerunner, but after about a year or so it just stopped charging properly. Swapped it for a Samsung Gear Sport which is excellent.

I had a gear sport, which I liked, but it needed charging too frequently for me.

Strange I can go 2 days without recharging and that includes GPS tracked runs on both days...

That would be a bit too often for me - I have a versa atm which needs charging twice a week at most, previously I had a withings which was twice a month..

I guess it depends on how much you use it. Even charging overnight isnt really a problem don't see how it has a negative impact unless its losing charge in within a day.

I use my watch to track my sleep, so overnight doesn't work for me.

How old is your Versa tredman?
I've had one for just over a year and it only needs charging once a week

Lad at work has just bought a Garmin as his other fitness stuff is Garmin too. Looks a more simple design than others but it does the job.

Only about 6 months, but I'm using it to track exercise for an hour everyday, sometimes more - so I guess that's why I have to charge it twice a week. It's the V2 if that makes any difference too.

Yeah mines the same but I'm only exercising once a week at the moment!
