Snooker

Christ Selby is awful to watch. Just taken the thick end of four minutes to play two of the most routine safetys you'll ever see.

Ugh. Wilson and Bingham could have been a great final.

Instead it's Selbzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and the weirdo god-squadding, cheating on his wife escort shagging Murphy.

British Open in Leicester just started on ITV4.

Some interesting matches to be played today, including the much talked about grudge match between ex partners Mark Allen and Reanne Evans.

Selby v Murphy the best of the first round ties. Also oldies Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry and Ken Doherty in action.

John Higgins straight in with a 147 in the first frame!

Allen v Evans has just started with lots of spice and edge to the atmosphere, with Reanne refusing the handshake at the start of the match.

As much as I respect her achievements in the ladies' game she shouldn't have a Tour card, classic Barry going after publicity. CueTracker has her down as playing 164 matches, she's made two centuries and lost 106 of them.

Well she is the World Champion. Same as Fallon Sherrock in the darts, she's been given a chance to boost ratings and promote inclusion.

I have no problem with it when old geezers like White and Hendry are given wild cards even though they will be lucky to get anywhere near the late stages of tournaments. They have crowd pull and that is why they are there.

Yeah but if Fallon had scored something like 10 180s in her entire career, I'd say the same thing. 2 centuries over that many games isn't even the standard of a decent club player.

Tbf I don't think White, Hendry, Doherty etc should have cards either. In fact I don't know why Hendry is bothering, he quit because he couldn't win any more and just making the last 8/16 wasn't good enough for him (no problem with that), after years out and no practice he isn't going to do any better than that, even in the smaller tournaments.

Jimmy has nothing better to do, he still deludes himself he can win stuff. Last won a ranking tournament in 2004 and before that it was 1992, I don't think so old son.

Steve Davis had it right, played for as long as he could because he still loved it, but as soon as he couldn't qualify for stuff under his own steam then that was that. He said when he retired that he only played for the last year or so because his Dad wasn't well and he didn't want to tell him he was finishing, sadly he passed away and then it was goodbye.

I guess Hendry still yearns for the buzz of competition and battle. He seems like that sort of guy, and now he's found a bit of form in practice he obviously fancies being in and around it all again.

I fully expect this to be 3-0, and Allen to just blank her and walk out at the end.

Currently 2-1 Evans, standard hasn't been great from either player

All set up for her to take the match here, she's put together a great break here

She's played well since frame 2.

Frame 4 was good, Allen got lucky. Decider...
