Snooker

Lucky that Evans missed match ball, but a very good clearance from Allen
Yep but he did intentionally leave her that as a difficult shot, although luck played a part too. She played good snooker the bits I saw, but Allen seemed to get his head together in the very last frame- just won

Ali Carter gets the second 147 of the week!

Judd Trump has gone over to New Jersey for the US Open in Pool. First pool tournament he's ever played in yet some bookies have put him as favourite.

Not hard to see why as he wiped the floor with Joe Magee 9-0 in his first round match. Playing with a US pool cue and looks like he has a very nice break-off.

Looks like Virgo and Taylor are being pensioned off after the next Worlds, about time.

I think they are both still ok, but I prefer listening to the likes of Hendry and McManus.

Watching Brecel v Saengkham at the moment, a couple if very very flukely pots for Brecel and otherwise a high quality game from Saengkham. Not really sure what to expect from this tournament but am going to take advantage of my boss being off work to have it on in the background this week at least I think.

Robbo is probably the form player. His Crucible record is rubbish since he won it in 2010 though.

What is technically known as an absolute battering.

Yep they are best mates off the table and spend lots of time together. Page was getting far too relaxed and buddy buddy in the build up and even did a joke Williams break to start the match. It was all smiles, but he won't be smiling now

I say it all the time but Christ, Selby is bloody boring. Doesn't get any better to watch. Always drags his opponent into the tedium too.

There's a couple of players who aren't very good to watch nowadays.

Selby, Bingtao, McGill, and to an extent Hawkins but he's a good break builder.

Kyren Wilson goes for lots of shots, but there's something about him that's just very vanilla. Probably his break building which is very by the numbers and not very creative. Plus the way he wanks his cue off before every shot!

And Neil Robertson winds me up with his constant walking round the table practicing where he wants his next shot from. Does my head in.

At least we haven't got the likes of Ebdon or Dott nowadays. Though Dott is still playing (got a 147 in qualifying but still lost).

Selby never used to be like this, I can't figured out when his game changed so much. I watched him in the UK 2007 Semi final I think when he won 8 frames in a row to tie level, then Ronnie blasted a 147 in the decider. Only snooker game I've ever been too, and I think it'll stay that way!

Yan Bingtao obviously a fan of The Big Bang Theory.

Wonderful 147 by Robertson just now, ironically after a pretty dodgy few games from him.

Yeah I really like the look of Lisowski and surprised he's never done better in the past. Although I think the game lacked the standard that Trump's game had (I was sadly watching both at the same time).

Told you about Robbo. Got a real mental block here, he's convinced himself he doesn't like the venue and that's that.

I don't massive follow the snooker through the year, but I enjoy the world's, so I may be wrong. But could it be the format of the world's he struggles with?

The rest of the year, outside of maybe 1 or 2 tournaments, the event matches are a lot shorter. Best of 7 I see at quite a few, where as here it's 19 in R1 and then into best of 25 and games spread across 2 days, even 3 for the semis I think

This Williams v Bingtao match has been absolutely sensational. Looked a formality after the first session
