A slightly ropey first half for both teams, getting into promising positions but wasting them regularly. Though Semedo should have scored with his chance early on.

Podence on the right annoyed me as he's just not effective there and couldn't get on the same wavelength as Semedo. Play him on the left or not at all in future.

Raul's goal was a superb run and finish from Sa's long punt forward, showing strength, agility and composure. Absolutely made up for him. He deserves it and hopefully the first of many more this season.

After that it was a case of digging in and trying to close out the game with them pressing forwards. I thought the team defended really well for the most part, with Sa being the pick of the bunch making good saves, reading danger and positioning himself perfectly. He was my MOTM.

Massive 3 points for the team and Lage.

sa's best game for us so far

really happy to see raul get his name on the scoresheet, and with such a great goal to boot

no marcal next week please. no mou/donk pairings please. neves needs to start.

first half was dire. second half wasn't great but better. a lot of work still to be done, but 3 points are 3 points for the time being.

I want RAN in for Marcal moving forwards.

The result was almost more important than the performance, and of course, delighted for Raul.

Donk and Moutinho were good, but we’ve got to try and stop being so careless with possession.

Bruno proves he can win without playing well, vital three points, moves us up to 13th place, gives us some breathing space and keeps Saints among the pack with zero wins. Good for me.

Thought Sa had a generally very good game, hope that's a monkey off Raul's back too.

Good performance AND three points v Newcastle in front of our own fans the next target

Pleased for Raul. Great work for the goal and well taken, thought he improved in general after it as well.

Not the best of performances but the 3 points is what matters today, we needed that.

Good win for me. Raul scoring is a huge bonus. Marcal is not very good. Hopefully RAN is fit for the next game.
Learning how to shithouse a win= priceless.

Get in. I had a feeling we’d sneak it in the 2nd half if we could make it to half time at 0-0.

I’m not really fussed about the quality of the match. We won and Raul scored. That’ll do.

That was an appalling second half performance but a win's a win.

I can't see us winning many games playing that badly. We must improve with the ball and in the final third.

Great to see Raul back second half and that's some finish from a long punt from the Sa.

Donk and Mout were great first half but looked like strangers second half.

Marçal should never be seen in a Wolves shirt again. Abysmal footballer barely Championship standard.

I hate watching Wolves play this badly, it was Lambert levels of atrocious.

Think the goal and how well Jimenez took it is more important than the overall win at this stage.

Let's hope the goals keep coming and Raul looks like his former self moving forward, because the wins will surely start coming in as well.

Said before give today’s outcome and performance over the Man Utd performance and outcome any day.
Points were priority and we’ve got them,
Liked the fight we showed dug in and did what was needed, I thought Donk in particular was very good today, Sa bar one ropey pass was excellent.

Sa Dendoncker Coady all very good today. Marcal was awful apart from 1 cross and some decent shit housery. Scrappy three points but it buys Bruno some time and gives Raul some confidence. Let’s be honest it was a low quality game.

The win and a goal for Raul is all that matters, but we have gone backwards and marcal is a bomb scare.
Sa was brilliant , and I don't get the criticism ever of kilman he was outstanding today.

Need to consider how poor Southampton were/are. I know you can only beat what’s in front of you etc - and ultimately, it was the result that was the most important thing - but I don’t think there’s many sides that we would beat playing that poorly. Saints will struggle this season. They don’t have Danny Ings up top to bail them out anymore. Like the look of Livramento, though.

Out today so didn't see the game (was more relaxing just picking up the score after)

Made up for Raul & hopefully that releases him now - still only a few games back from a career (& even possible life) ending injury.

Will watch MoTD with interest now - don't care how scrappy it was its a win & that was needed.

Sa now has more assists this season than Adama 🤣🤣🤣

and Raul, Podence, Neves, Moutinho, Trincao, Semedo... 😉

They got a point at the Etihad last game out mate!

3 points, a goal for Raul, a clean sheet. All things to be happy about. Jose Sa another positive, as was Kilman and as was Hwang. I'm not sure what I'm missing about Donk having a good game, I thought he was at best average: didn't keep possession well, lightweight in too many challenges and was running through treacle most of the time. But I guess he wasn't terrible like some others were.

Marcal should never be first, 2nd or 3rd choice in any position ever again. Basically only play him if every other option's legs have fallen off.

Podence was abysmal. Passed to the opposition more than his own team. Did less than nothing.

Other than the fact that we failed to string more than 4 passes together the entire 2nd half, it was terrific. We won.

All pretty hyperbolic considering we're sat in the same position in the table Nuno left us

Only saw the 2nd half...that was a bit Nuno-esque, rely on someone to pull a rabbit out of the hat. Got away with it thankfully but it's no way to get consistent success (don't think anyone here is blind to that, I would hope Bruno isn't either)

Hopefully it was more a case of needs must to get points on the board as it was a bit of a step backwards otherwise.

Delighted for Raul though, from not knowing if he'll ever play again to having a moment like that, heck of a 9 months.
