Southampton 1-2 Wolves. Verdict Thread

Sure all clubs could put together a list but..

MGW not being fouled enough
Handball v Albion when he caught it (although if that was checked I'm 100% they would called a foul from Silva on the keeper)
The farce at Anfield when the ref said he didn't blow for handball against Lallana when he obviously did.

Last season they said they can't change any of the rules mid season so how come they have been able to change the hand ball rule during this season.

I have no idea. Sometimes they say it's IFAB mandated, sometimes it's their own stupid internal interpretation.

I can't even think why they messed with handball. Sure, the original rule is ridiculous - as I said yesterday, "intent" is a ludicrous concept on so many levels - but I don't remember tons of controversial handball decisions/non-decisions and we must sort this situation out immediately?!

Ultimately we have amateurs playing a professional game. The fact that the likes of Jon Moss are allowed to ref at an elite level when one glance at the fella will tell you that he's literally not fit to referee, well, it says it all. Imagine having someone of the standard of Bankes or Coote in your respective field at work, they wouldn't last a fortnight, they'd get pied off for being quite obviously shit.

My first step would be to get ex-pros (sensible ones, not your Merson types) doing VAR. It can't be refs backing refs, we've seen it doesn't work.

There was a table on FB via ESPN yesterday showing a league of who has been effected by VAR overturns...we're towards the bottom on them for points gained and near the top for points lost.
That penalty for Albion pissed me off greatly at the time and just in the last couple of weeks I've seen 3 or 4 games with the same thing where the pen was overturned........and as for that Traore yellow for diving...you've started me off all over again.

The Boly one against Albion is just shocking.

"Aye, that's outside the box. Free kick".

How hard is that?

For my sins I've just watched it back to check it's not just a still that backs up my preconception.

It's not even a fucking foul. Robinson knocks it off and jumps into Boly. Outside the box.

A dreadful decision.

It is appalling play from us in the first place mind. Some trademark Adama running straight into people on the edge of his own box to start it all off.

Re bit in bold - you clearly haven't worked in the public sector!

Agree wholeheartedly on the last paragraph though.

I can live with it being a foul. Boly shoves his leg in and doesn’t win the ball. Contact isn’t massive but that’s more because Robinson is avoiding it more than anything. As soon as you lunge across someone and don’t win the ball, you’re giving a foul away everytime. It did look outside the box though.

But my issue at the time was more with the dreadful decision making from us defensively in the first place.

Followed by him then sitting on his arse for no particular reason either. Another trademark of his. Most frustrating player I have ever seen play for us.

He’d be world class if he had half a brain.
