It's going to be a tough choice!

Ellie Simmonds
Andy Murray
David Weir
Sarah Storey
Mo Farah
Jess Ennis
Rory McIlroy
Bradley Wiggins
Katherine Grainger
Chris Hoy
Ben Ainslie
Nicola Adams

Many very, very worthy contenders. Possibly all could be overwhelming favourite in any other year. I think my vote would go to Wiggins though, with Murray a close second. No possibility of a "Why the hell did the British public demonstrate their complete stupidity and vote for him?" moment...

Jess Ennis for me, though I agree it will be difficult to pick a winner. All are deserving.

What a year for British sport and sportsmen. Has to Wiggins though. If he hadn't won the TdF then it'd be too close to call, probably between Mo & Ennis.

Plenty of other years Carl Froch would have had a real shout...

Farah for me. But then I don't give two hoots about cycling so obviously my opinion doesn't necessarily reflect what the public will say.

Ennis, but then that means leaving Mo Farah out of the top three....going to be tough.

I'm going for Mo Farah myself - he seems to be the perfect 'success story' and the jubilation at the gold medal was brilliant!

I don't see the fuss in Ennis compared to the others. She won her olympic event and errrr... that's it.

At least with Wiggins, Farah and Maurray they won multiple things.

Got to be Andy Murray. The first British male to win a major final since 1936 and the first British Olympic champion in over 100 years. Plus a silver medal in the doubles and a Wimbledon final.

Murray for me, to be Olympic champion and US Open champion plus a Wimbledon final and another Olympic Silver with the class of opponent he has to face is just simply outstanding.

Rory. One of the most competitive sports with a many, many players who are capable of winning (and is not full of drugs cheats). He displays a humility and maturity beyond his years. Won a major, 4 tour titles, money list, and had a major input into the greatest sporting comeback in history. Murray second, for performing extremely well against essentially superior opponents.

After last year's moans it'll have to be a woman, hence a beauty contest, hence Ennis. But I'd pick her anyway.
