Might as well kick this one off.

Could well be the summer where we see a lot of bids for our players. Obviously we don't have to sell but player power and all that beats anything a club can do.

To start off -

Via Duncan Castles
Wolves are aware of interest in Adama Traoré from Manchester City, but will not let the player go easily.
Fosun International [Wolves’ owners] expect a bid of €150m before they even consider selling the player.

Now, that is potentially bullshit but if a club rocked up and offered us 150m.....we would be insane to say no.

Barca supposedly interested in taking him back there too.

We'd be daft to sell him for anything else than a figure we could build a team for. We're completely set up around him at the moment, and he's a megastar in the making- it'd be folly to sell him for less than he'll be worth for us in the fullness of time.

No point in selling him for £60 million this summer when he could be worth twice that a year or two after.

We couldn't and wouldn't say no to silly money when we are owned by a company that has to consider returns to investors. That would be an 900% profit on our record transfer then so its better than good financial business.

I am winding my neck in a bit on quality. Neto looks better than originally suggested and that was true of Jonny, Jota , Vinagre and to some extent Raul. Podence could easily join that list.

However, and its a big if, IF we win the Europa League I think all the big boys stay regardless.

Majority. I think we would still lose a couple (its going to happen at some point).

At the end of it, if say Liverpool come knocking then it becomes difficult to keep a player, regardless of what we want to do. At this moment in time, every player will want to be part of the Liverpool machine. I think we will be fair and never deny a player a chance to step up but it will come with a side note of the buying club has to offer x amount before we agree though. As we are generally careful about the type of players we sign, we shouldn't get any player threatening strikes or moaning to the press via their agents about it if a move is slow to happen.

Fosun aren't in this to make a return by skimming money off transfer fees though...

They paid £30m(ish) for the club, settled any small residual debt and then they've spent whatever they have on fees, infrastructure and wages. The upshot is that the club is worth a ridiculous amount more right now than it was in 2016. That's their return on investment.

Talk of selling Adama for £60m is just madness. He'll be worth that in shirt sales and publicity. As I've written previously, if/when Wolves go to the US Adama will be the story. Could this guy be a running back in the NFL? He'll be all over the TV. Given the progress he's made this season he genuinely has the potential to be a world star. I also think staying with Nuno is the best thing for his career so, as someone said yesterday, new contract, £200m release clause and a gazillion in shirt sales...

I think the only way that Adama and Raul move on in the summer is if they start agitating for the move.

Both of them are worth their weight in platinum for the building of Wolves as a global brand.

If they ask to go and there is a bid at the right level (there probably would be for Adama) then Nuno will just allow them to leave. He doesn't want unhappy players here. Of course there are no current signs that either want to leave.

I don't think anyone will pay what we'd ask for Raul as he's 29 in May. Very few if any clubs these days are prepared to have that kind of bonfire where you spend an astronomical sum on a player who you know will be of negligible transfer value inside three years. Even the likes of City, Real, Bayern etc keep a continual eye on FFP.

I think we’ll get a £100m+ bid for Adama and he will go. Podence is probably our first take at a replacement.

Depending on what Man United do in the summer I reckon we could flog them Raul if we got a better replacement in

He really won't. The mainstream US Sports news channels pay little attention to Soccer even that played in their own country The novelty of a fast player from a relatively little known club won't touch the surface.

If we go to the US, it'll be to play in Texas or Southern California and be aimed at the Mexican fan base

The plan seems to be play Club America in Texas, so clear what market we are targetting there

Yes, I know (to Leeds). That's their football channel talking about it though, not MSM

Tbf I’ve been amazed how many people in the US follow premier league and know wolves. Loads of people this week have asked me about who my ‘soccer’ team is and have known wolves.

Preventing a player who wants to move from doing so rarely ends well. If we get an offer of £90m plus I think it would make sense to take the money and wish Traore well. Even in the current market that money could be used to street he team with upgrades to perhaps three of the first team.

Not convinced about Barcelona...even with the firesale they've had recently they will still probably need to sell before they spend huge money on someone. And their priority has to be getting a replacement in for Suarez, who's probably done there.

Dunno how he would fit at City either. They'd probably make it work but he seems very antithetical as a 'Pep' player.

I'm not saying bids won't come in but I have a feeling it might not be the usual names.

As for incomings, think this season has probably shown pretty well we need to strengthen in a couple places - the WB slots, for one, and probably CB as well (personal preference, I'd prefer Boly + new CB going forwards - can understand if people are happy with Saiss but I don't think he's a long term option)

Matheson seems a promising one for the future but we've only really Buur as Doc's direct backup. You can make the case for Jonny being his immediate replacement but then really we need someone on the left vs Vinagre who's still developing...not sure he's in position to start regularly atm.

I'd really like us to sign a long-term CM replacement for Moutinho but I've come around to the thought it probably won't shake out like I think...it'd take a serious amount of money to sign a direct replacement who can play at a high level regularly and I don't think we're going to break the bank like that. Maybe Loiodice will be the one.

The youngsters we've signed and how they develop are probably going to be a theme for this actually - same goes for Campana. If he progresses the way we want then maybe he will be Raul's backup next year and we can look at strengthening elsewhere.

Who else from the U23s are ready to step up? Is Sondergaard ready to be Rui's deputy, for one?
