Summer 2021 transfer window

Don't think there's anything wrong with getting excited with the young players imo. I'm excited to see them grow and hopefully they become heroes here. I think everyone would agree that we need better experienced players to go with them but after this season i'd just love to watch a team where these players play regularly and with freedom. We have to look at some positives from this season.

Personally i've been convinced since i saw Fabio play that he will develop in to a player who will regularly score goals at the highest level, the Arsenal home game convinced me with Vitinha, the Palace game was enough with RAN and having seen OO a couple of times for the 23's you could tell he had the ability for top flight football.

They've all got things to work on but that's obviously always the case with young players however the important thing is they all have the talent to play at this level and potentially play in a team that plays European football regularly.

There are some players that look composed and in control of what they do from the first moment you see them. Vitinha falls into that category, he has a tremendous awareness of what is going on around him and great control and vision. He’s the kind of player most of us have wanted to see in midfield. The last young player that looked such a rounded footballer so early in his Wolves career was Robbie Keane and he proved to be quite good.

The context is what makes these young players so exciting. Silva is 18, RAN 19, Vitinha 21 and Otasowie 20. Obviously it's whether that trajectory can keep going but to be as good as they are for their ages is pretty mental.

It feels like MGW has been around for a long time and he is only 21 himself.

I said after the Leicester home game that WJ didn't do much and Silva would score more than WJ.

Like you I've always thought Silva will do well.

I was less sure about RAN, the palace game he was good but palace were awful. He's really benefiting from a run in the team now.

Vitinha just looks like he's got "it".

We should also remember they are young and will be inconsistent.

It's also worth remembering we are paying £70m for them. These aren't some kids from Telford who have come through the Academy.
We have already spent half of that, to be fair on Fabio. 30m for both RAN and Vitinha doesn't look a bad deal at all to to me. Willian Jose is a no from me now he has had a decent run. I am also not seeing what Gibbs-White brings at the moment. I do think we need a better centre half who plays in a four and has a bit of agility and pace about him. That's going to make him fairly pricey unfortunately. That is where our connections with Mendes should come in very handy. I am concerned that we could end up being without Boly for a while on top of Jonny and Neto being out until 10-15 games into next season and we still do not know about Raul. I think that we should go for 3 or 4 signings on top of keeping Vitinha and RAN. What will actually happen , I have no clue. Next seasons carabao cup should be played with a number of the emerging u23s either starting or getting cameo game time. Given our recent record they may only get one round!

I hope Hoever, RAN, Otasowie, Vitinha, MGW and Fabio are all first team regulars in a successful Wolves side in two or three years, but I presume we're all in agreement that a couple of high quality signings for the here and now are paramount in the next couple of windows? That's got to be good for the young lads, too

Yes, definitely. There has to be an experienced CB and CM to come in for certain - all of the younger players had a good game on Monday, but there is inevitably going to be a time where they're all in the team and have awful games.

I would probably only put RAN and Vitinha in the starting eleven next season, and maybe Fabio on the left of the 3 behind Raul.

I think Fabio will work well in a two but he is not a lone striker. Raul and Fabio up top with Traore left , Neto right and Vintinha in the middle backed by Neves could work but it would need more pace at the back as its close to 4-2-4. Boly on form is ok but Saiss and Coady just don't have the pace. Even then it is still a bit too Keegan for me.

Depending how our summer goes, I would probably look to have Raul up top with Silva-Vitinha-Traore/A.N other behind him.

I want both, the buying of really promising youth is what will elevate us in the future to levels which aren't obtainable by buying ready made talent.

In some hypothetical world we're we can choose between two or three starters coming in, but three means less talent for the future I'd, I'd take buying in two starters every time to enable the youth talent to come in.

I fully anticipate we will sign a CB in the summer, but he'll be around the age of 20-24 and not quite the finished product yet... Diogo Leite-esque.

Yes, but how can you say "he did that job quite well last night" when that wasn't his job?

He didn't play CM, never has started a game there for us.
He did not, and I have not said he did or even played superb.

I said he looks a ball carrier, based on the 90 minutes against the Albion.

He carried it well.
His issue was the passes were always under hit

What are you on about? You said OO played well last night in a deep midfield role and would be good in that position going forward.

He didn't play there, he played right wing.
No check again, I responded to a comment about a ball carrying midfielder saying we have one, in Otasowie.
He looks that type of player He carried the ball well from minute one, his early issues were his passing about 4 or 5 were cut out . He played wide right not deep lying.

Mate, that isn't what you said, I literally quoted you.

You can think he has those attributes, that's fine, but he's never started a game for us in that position.
