Summer 2021 transfer window

I think, if Raul comes back to the same level as before, I'd want a forward who can also play wide.

What does it matter what WJ costs?
The important question is, does he add value to the squad?

We cannot return to the situation where Fabio is the only backup option, and we are not sure yet that Raul will recover, or, if he does recover, when that is likely to be.

When the season is over, we can make a decision whether to keep WJ or not depending on the situation then, but until that time we have no other choice.
I liked the post for we cannot be left with just Fabio, not the bullshit about Raul

My extensive googling has uncovered two such players

Gaetan Laborde @Montpelier
Jordan Larsson @ Spartan Moscow

No idea if they're any good or not!

It matters what he costs because every club is working to some form of budget no matter how rich their owners are.

£22m is still a lot of money, to me Jose wouldn't represent anything like value based on what we have seen so far.

The best option like others have said is probably going to be signing a player that can play wide and through the middle if needed, if and when Raul comes back he plays every game and you can't really bring him off in game as he's always likely to score so that already gives the backup option limited minutes - we need to guard against injury but we can't really have 3 players that can only play as a 9 as one of them is literally never ever going to play.

Gaetan Laborde @Montpelier; 9 goals, 7 assists in 25 games in Ligue 1

Jordan Larsson @ Spartan Moscow; 8 goals, 4 assists for Spartak in the League

Jordan Larsson is Henrik Larssons son, that played for Barca and Celtic among some other clubs..recently got some chances in the swedish national team for his good season in moscow

We need a successor to Moutinho, probably sooner than later. I think Donk's value to us depends how highly we rate Vitinha who to date has barely played in a midfield two. I'm not convinced either Donk or Vitinha are ready to play alongside Neves so Donk becomes the new Saiss - cover in CM and at CH but never a starter if everyone is fit. If we stick with current formation I'd be looking to sign a new CM and use Moutinho and either Vitinha or Donk as back up so Donk's value to us is dependant on whether we do sign Vitinha. If we do I'd be tempted to let Donk go if a good offer was on the table.

Rafael Leao is the player I'd like us to get but not sure what his situation at Milan is, although financially I don't think they're in great shape.

If we could get Musiala out of Bayern that would be a real coup.

El Neysri would be a decent option if Sevilla are feeling generous.

I like Jonathon David from Lille too even if he's small like Jota.

Now is the time to shop in this covid times, if you got the owners who can splash the cash..may seem a bit unfair though but..

I don't know why anyone would sell Donck. We won't have an 18 next season that that will be better without him than with him. Plus we've only just extended his contract
I don't think he's going anywhere. They wouldn't sign him up till 2025 if they didn't want him like you alluded to.

He's a good player. Very underrated in my opinion.

Well, if we’re buying a new centre back and a new midfielder then our squad is instantly two bigger than it is now if we don’t sell anyone.

logically you wouldn’t keep both Donk and saiss, and we’d get more for Donk given their ages and contracts.

I think if anything he's been overrated a little in his time here. The criticism he's received this season probably evens it out to a fair level.

He's willing, and on his day covers a lot of ground and can help us tick over, but he doesn't really excel at much...decent PL squad player and it may be that he can play 'water carrier' and help a future Nuno team tick over. I think he's definitely second tier if we're talking about our post-promotion signings
