Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Emmanuel Dennis to forest for £15m is good business.

I'd wager he'll have a better G and A return than MGW
I agree, very good business. Impressed me a lot last season in a piss poor team.

I would have loved him here, all be it he might be a bit similar to what we already have.

One striking difference is that he knows how to score Premier League goals though.

He is an enormous arse and a diva in the dressing room. Epically fails the no dickheads policy.

Assuming MGW stays and Guedes is decent then it's not really a position we need, agree it's a good signing for them at a good price though

I mean, I don't think anyone doubts we could sign dozens of players if we were willing to break the bank on any old shit. The right signings are more difficult (and I'm not willing to defend the club on that front either).

None of us want 'dozens of signings'.

Just an actual first team midfielder and a striker option, seeing as our only ones we have are injured or on loan, would be fine

I agree, but when we've got people looking enviously at Forest and their fifteen signings it's probably worth noting.

Yeah, he plays off the front-man rather than being the front-man.

If what Padds said is true then i'm looking forward to Dennis & JLingz on TikTok

I'm amazed Sarr is still at Watford tbh, would've thought he'd have been the first one out

Point 1) Forest are closer to villa when they came up, they had a lot of either loanee or contract expiry players so whilst their recruitment looks excessive its different to Fulham, in the sense it was needed and they are mostly identifying players who fit what they did do well but are upgrades. Fulham seemed to make a wholesale style shift.

Point 2) people can talk about difficulties or signings being tough, but that isn't the case. The finances are tough but the identification of targets shouldnt be. In addition to having a scouting and recruitment team, a DOF or a designee will have the role of identifying short, mid and long term targets. A pro club has masses of data tracking and scouting affiliates too you can subcontract in a jam. We seem particularly poor and slow with completing transfers and it's right to at least point out we think this.

Point 3 - Leeds had 5 players unable to make the squad at the weekend due to injury or fitness, they managed to field a bench that had 4 subs they were happy to bring on during a Prem game they ultimately won.

Everton lost 2 CBs during the opening week and already signed a replacement who they had been keeping tabs on previously.

Injuries are a factor in squad planning and management, not an excuse for a lack of options unless it's a flu or food poison style situation that there have been like 2 or 3 examples of in about 25 years.

It's gone quiet on Ajorque again. He seems like the best fit at a reasonable price.

But with the selling club wanting more money and other teams involved you get that inevitable sense that we'll likely miss out on another player.
Did I read somewhere that Everton are trying to sign him?

Just reiterates how extremely small/short our squad is compared to a distinctly average Leeds team

Does Bruno being quoted on the official site about getting 3 or 4 in mean anything?

Strikes me as if Nunes is a very hard boy to please , wonder is he worth all the effort ?
Maybe. Or maybe he has loftier aspirations than the likes of us or West Ham. Depends where he sees himself, I guess
