Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Semedo has had two bad hamstring injuries in half a season, Ait Nouri always used to get cramp - he’s probably got more running to do this year and play more, Moutinho is old and infact already injured, Neves is ripe for suspensions, Podence is made of biscuits, Hwang is alledgedly injured.

This all ignoring we have 3 players who have had recent long term injuries.

I’m all for having a small squad but it’s not inconceivable that we will be without 3-5 players at any one time. Now if you’ve only got 15 players you actually want to use (and unbalanced in the positions they play in), then you’re going to end up limited in game changing subs for the majority or worse without a competent first XI for some.

The five sub rule is going to make such a difference from now on. Those that have that little bit of extra depth without a massive drop-off will be in a better position in the last 20 minutes of games. You can definitely see more matches being won and lost due to the quality of the benches

I think a lot of teams only used two subs before close to full time as they wanted insurance in case of an injury. Those clubs may well use four now so bench strength is crucial.

Forest now bidding for Emmanuel Dennis. Happy days. Hope that means our fuck off stance on MGW has worked.

Apparently performed quite well in Serie A last season, but could only see him being used as cover for a couple of positions. Doubt we have any serious interest

...which in turn is only going to widen the divide within the division.

I'd like to see league rules introduced in conjunction with the subs change that say that % of the squad need to be home grown (and maybe even radius to club rules to stop big clubs hoarding 100s of U21s)

Same guy saying there's Premier League interest in Diogo Gonçalves as well. Linked with us a long time ago before he went on loan to Forest.

Would be really disappointed if we miss out on Ramos and he goes to Newcastle.

GFFH said we should be signing someone before the weekend. That’s looking unlikely. He also said Ramos and Nico were our top targets - and both of those don’t look like happening either. I’d say his source is passing info on in good faith, so can’t help but feel we are missing out on the majority/all of our top targets (again).

Adams is a decent footballer but doesn't score enough at this level.
I wanted him from Blues, I wouldn't pay the rumoured £10m now though, see if we can get him on loan with an option - they are all the rage

Newcastle are a way bigger pull than us now.

For a young Portuguese guy leaving home for the first time? Maybe Wolvo is the better option for him to make an impact.

If they've any sense they'd sell the Portugese contingent for coming to Wolves and it being easier to settle in along and Diogo Jota for the pipeline he can follow if hes successful.
