Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Depends on your viewpoint. I personally think forgoing millions to end up doing the thing you turned them down for, a huge error. Not to mention moving to a side who will expect astronomical sums should he prove to be good enough to make that move. He's likely in a.position now to dictate his contract terms,.including release clauses.

Transfers to elite sides are all about timing, Jota is a prime example of this, would Liverpool have been interested if we had paid 40 odd million and wanted 100m+?
I’d wager if we were signing a player hyped for a top team in there early 20s they would insert a release clause for a reasonable fee, say 60/70m so they didn’t snooker themselves

II don’t even know what your saying now your just digging a hole and need to stop and take the L.

“him not moving to the PL now will be a massive error” is simply not true. Unless forgoing 40k a week for a year is all you can cling onto (ignoring the fact he might get double that a year later and a few medals at sporting).

Nice editing there, you can't proclaim something isn't true when it's an opinion on the future, unless you have mastered time travel?

Depends on their leverage doesn't it. As it is, he could definitely insist and we would agree. If he's anything but exceptional next year that leverage has gone because teams of our level are his best option.

Didn’t edit anything ??

Your Jota example is a complete contradiction to your original point and instead supporting my view.

You aren’t making any sense on multiple levels so I’m out.

You didn't quote what I wrote, you edited it to suit your point. Poor form so I've come to the same conclusion you have.

Sorry you don't understand the jota point either, maybe if we had a few hours I could explain the economics.

“him not moving to the PL now will be a massive error”
not moving to the PL when his stock is this high will turn out to be a massive error.
I didn’t use the quote function as Cba to go and cut it, but these mean the same thing.

Bit condescending? I don’t understand your point, as it’s just utter Nonsense contradicting your original point. The jota example makes perfect sense it just doesn’t support your point! Him moving to a non-elite club this summer for 40 million will potentially block his move to an elite club in the future, as you say, City etc. would then have to pay much more than that 40 million to get him out of Wolves/WHU. Which is exactly my point of why he doesn’t want to join Wolves or West Ham when he can stay for another year in Portugal and hopefully get the move to the big club next year, doing zero damage to his stock and no damage to his career earnings (that was your other point wasnt it…)

So it’s risk reward then.

That’s assuming his priorities are money motivated. Perhaps he’s happy playing in European competition and thinks is 4 figure weekly salary is comfortable enough for now, or whatever he is on.

Forest are signing so many players they’re already replacing ones they bought at the start of the window.

At what point does a manager have to many players at his disposal that it becomes just very confused?

Everything about Forest's spending this summer strikes me as a disaster waiting to happen, to be honest.

I make it 14-15 new signings now, problem is the amount of loans they had last season so they needed replacing plus improving quality. Reality 6-7 signings would do and trusting some of the side that got you up.
