Well, Sporting was never very fond of Mendes. (Maybe cause of Benfica being so attached to him). Of course they do make business with him from time to time (its all about the money at the end of the day) and Mendes most of all things cares about his pocket.

Sporting's chairman is not a fan favourite (probably the best they had in 20 plus years, and he even won a league title but he just doesnt hate on Benfica enough), and this transfer wont make things any easier to him.

On the same transfer window they lost both Palhinha and Nunes.
 
But Jorge will let them replace Nunes with Ricardo Horta from Braga as he earns commission from both sides of both deals if Nunes ends up at Wolves.

So, Fosun aren’t all that bad then 😂.

Just trying to square this circle of selling to buy bollocks, and the previous few windows.

Maybe what they look to do is have a big window once every 2-3 years, getting in 3 or so players with a high net spend that could be sold at a profit in future, then 0 net spend or minimal next 2 years and repeat.

Just seems strange the shift in policy. Not as if there’s been lots of unrest at games
 
I guess maybe they’ve thought ‘shit we’re not getting points, could go down so need to do something’
 
It maybe that they've thought now's the time to spend money to protect the next few years of PL football. If the Taiwan sitch leads to sanctions etc
 
I mean, i watch 0 Portuguese football, so have never really seen this lad play, but if pep raves about him, he must be half decent, right?
 
Hope we haven't lined up something for Neves rather than MGW and actually done something about it first. If we can have all 3 it would be fab. Humble pie can bugger off, we need players :p

Hopefully. Enough people are saying he's really good rather than having no clue so it's a good sign

No one is paying the money for Neves and Forest have signed Aouar instead of Gibbs-White. Neither are going anywhere.

Big pressure on Lage to perform now.

Wouldn't put it past a club going for Neves after a few games and before the window shuts. Fingers crossed you're right though.

He still needs an actual outright forward to gel everything together.
