Summer 2022 Transfer Window

I'll add to the crap chants -

Oh I went into Jorge Mendes shop, and what do you think I got?

Two new players from Portugal with a little bit siphoned off

Bit of guesswork.
Jeff isn't as stupid as many thought and did realise afterall that the underlieing squad conditions meant relegation was a possibility sooner or later. Neves wasn't getting sold so the funding for the rebuild wasn't there, but the squad with him in was still weak. He/Mendes went to Guo for a releasing of the pursestrings to be spent on Mendes players and £55m later Guedes and Nunes turn up. Tbd if some of that needs to be made back by a sale elsewhere.

I hope Nunes' head is straight though and realises the quickest way to get to one of the clubs he really wants to be at is by performing well for Wolves

As I've said before, this was at least part of the rationale for selling Jota so readily. So anyone of that ilk that we want to sign can see that we won't stand in your way if you're good for us and a genuine elite club comes in. We just haven't signed any players like that for ages, with the possible exception of RAN (please ignore the last two games).

I still have concerns that this is rather like Ferrari building an excellent F1 car then giving Pastor Maldonado the #1 driver's seat, but we'll see. Anyway we still need a striker, like now.

I am aware, but still it’s nice to see a quote like that regarding one of our players, surely.

Ronaldo is still hoping for a move before the window shuts according to Fabrizio..
having watched him for UTD, no thanks and i never thought I would say that about one of the 5 best players I have ever seen

Time is still undefeated (if you ignore Tom Brady).

All other reasons why it won't happen aside, he's looking for trophies as his time winds down, which isn't likely here

For the avoidance of doubt, I wasn't being serious :D

He’d build the brand though as Jeff wants, just because we’d be on all the sports pages, Google searches of “where the fuck is Wolverhampton?” Would be number 1, and we’d be trending on twitter, think of the shirt sales and merchandising, kerching!

Yeah there's a fuck up there somewhere, saying he gets 0.35 assists per 90 over the last year, when he only got one assist last season!

Yeah a lot of it doesn't make sense. It says it's a comparison against other midfielders over the last 365 days but then says that only includes something like 500 minutes.

The progressive carries/successful dribbles doesn't make much sense to me either, terrible in the former but amazing in the latter when they have the same figure against them. He must only carry the ball to take people on and everyone else just strolls forward unopposed 50 times against.

Portuguese journo Pedro Sepulveda reckons we're in for Ramos, loan with obligation...

Definitely the kind of insightful journalism worth paying for
