Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Portuguese journo Pedro Sepulveda reckons we're in for Ramos, loan with obligation...

I'm trying to give Madeley the benefit of the doubt here; maybe the vacation was scheduled months in advance of when he found out he'd be covering Wolves?

Hard for me to get mad at someone using their PTO.

He was still a football writer for a subscription website.

Don't book a holiday in the bloody season, let alone in a transfer window, let alone in a season where club football literally takes a break for a month or more before the end of the year.

No matter when it was booked he's a football journalist, choosing to go on holiday at the thick end of the transfer window?

What kind of numbnuts does that?

Well if he was already covering football that does make it seem like a pretty weird choice.

Weirder that his manager would have approved the request in the first place. Assume that's how it works over there? You don't get to just say "I'm taking my PTO on these days", you still have to 'ask permission', in a sense?

Out of all the jobs in the world you can do remotely, I would've thought this one would be high on the list. Heck, I might even spend 52 weeks of the year on the beach writing the articles.

Special guest in the club shop 14.30, come along and take your photo with him, wolves have said on instagram.
I’m assuming it’s Jose Sa being as they’ve been plugging the goalkeeper kits, but who knows?

Signing Nunes is clearly fantastic news for all of us .

However Nunes driving forward and creating extra chances is of little use if we have no natural goal scorer up front . It also has to be a striker that will score in the Premier League and has the right attitude - look at Nunez last night , a big of niggle from the defender and he loses the rag .
Ramos is a tad inexperienced maybe .

Perhaps our glorious leader is an all round football expert with a brilliant recruitment team after all who knew?
I don’t think Scott Sellars had much to do with this one (although he’ll try and take credit, no doubt). Basically Mendes has bailed us out.

Like others, I’m not letting them completely off the hook because there’s been some horrendous recruitment, PR and decisions over the last few years, but they definitely get some credit back after this window - even more so if a FW comes in.

Then it’s over to Bruno to get a tune from them; which he surely would.

Having a willing runner from midfield who can commit defenders and drag them out of position can only create more opportunities for our forwards.

I hope nobody minds me dragging this out again :)

I do, Shi has presided over some of the most appalling fan communication in 20 or so years. His 'ask Wolves' interview was a disgrace and calling fans who go to the game 'legacy fans' was particularly loathsome.

I hope he's gone soon.

Bruno worked with Ramos, so there is a chance of that deal. Crikey, it's like xmas!

Sounds like Benfica are after €40m for Ramos. If we can delay that until next summer with a loan to buy then I can see that making sense. I'm sure they'd want an obligation though.

Hmmm.

He's had 40 league games, there's been precious little sign that there's a fabulous managerial talent just waiting to explode, if only he had the players.

Ultimately though it's win-win for us. With the money invested the club clearly has no intention of being in a relegation fight, so either he carries on with shit results and he'll get sacked fairly quickly (and there'd be no shortage of good managers wanting to have the likes of RAN, Collins, Neves, Nunes, Neto at their disposal), or he turns it around with the improved squad and everyone's happy.

I think it'll be Scenario A but basically he can't have any complaints now, especially if we do sign Ramos.
