Will KJ keep to the same starting eleven? Or will Afobe start the game.

Personally, I'd like us to start with the same eleven. Henry needs to up his game for sure, and it wouldn't surprise me if Afobe came in for him.

Have a feeling Doherty will start ahead of Hause. Not because Hause has done anything wrong but if Charlton are likely to park the bus then our left back needs to be more attacking. Hause struggled with that v Blackpool.

Were that to be the case I think Golbourne will play, he should be in contention for the weekend. I don't think we will see Doherty at left back again unless Scott breaks again.

I'm not expecting any changes, I would tempted to play Van La Parra on the left and move Dicko nominally to the right (but with a brief to come into the middle whenever appropriate) with Afobe up front, but I don't think Ken will do that just yet.

.

1 week of training and a game postponed, I doubt we will see Scott until they are 100% happy with him.

We took Hause off v Blackpool because we were losing an attacking option down his side. Like I said, in no way a criticism of him and if KJ sticks with the 11 I will not complain

Not a bad home record against these (we do not speak of the game in the PL, what a shit feeling five minutes before kick off to hear Murray had pulled out with injury):

2014/15: D 1-1 (A)
2012/13: D 1-1 (H), L 1-2 (A)
2008/9: W 2-1 (H), W 3-1 (A)
2007/8: W 2-0 (H), W 3-2 (A)
2003/4: L 0-4 (H), L 0-2 (A)
1999/0: L 2-3 (H), L 0-2 (A)
1997/8: W 3-1 (H), L 0-1 (A), D 1-1 (A, FAC), W 3-0 (H, FAC)
1996/7: W 1-0 (H), D 0-0 (A)
1995/6: D 0-0 (H), D 1-1 (A), D 0-0 (H, LC), W 2-1 (A, LC)
1994/5: W 2-0 (H), L 2-3 (A)
1993/4: D 1-1 (H), W 1-0 (A)

I think we'll see the same team as last week except for Afobe in for Henry with Edwards show horned left

Doubt we will see Golbourne from the start - only just back and bench is the most I would expect.

Hause or Doherty at LB? Depends how Kenny thinks Charlton will set up - wouldn't be surprised to see the same starting formation as v Blackpool, keep it tight to start & see how it progresses.

If he feels a more attacking option is needed there then one of the others on at a suitable point.

Same team as last week for me, with Afobe and Golbourne on the bench.

The change at left back was because we needed to increase attacking options, & the overlap on the left. Hause wasn't offering that, whereas Doherty would have been sent on with that specific brief.
However, we turned round the poor November form by having a very solid defensive unit, & imo we should not be changing that at this time.
We should start with the same back 5, looking to maintain another clean sheet if possible.
If we are still 0-0 at 55 minutes, then consider the tactical change if Hause is not engaging in the overlap.

Apparently KJ said at the fans forum that he wasn't happy with the blackpool performance. It is reasonable then to assume in training this week, these issues will have been raised with the squad and worked on.

Golbourne in the squad then, which is brilliant news. I notice two youngsters are training, one I think is Kellerman but I'm not sure about the left sided defender in the video, maybe Carter?

How are Charlton doing at the moment? They weren't bad when we played them near the start of the season (that was a game where we really dropped two points though), and I thought they'd been looking pretty comfortably mid-table, but with sacking Peeters and losing 0-5 to Watford last week... well, are they looking wobbly, basically, or should be be wary of the old new boss bounce?

Edit: Oh yeah, and *very* excited to see Golbourne back in the matchday squad. Better than Hause at defending (as impressive as the lad's been), better than Doherty at attacking.

I think they've been poor for a while but no idea what the new manager will do to them this week.

Afobe for Henry from last weeks 11 I think. KJ said in the forum thing that Afobe is backup to Dicko but he'll consider playing them both in games such as the charlton one. Coupling that with the fact we were poor against Blackpool by all accounts until Afobe came on I think we'll start that way. Golbourne being back is very good news, I expect him to come on later in the game.

Charlton's in bad form,9 without a win now since early November.

They do have a lot of draws though. 13 so far.

We will need to score early to prevent them 'parking the bus' like Blackpool did.

We struggled vs Charlton earlier in the year until we subbed Nouha on and went 4-4-2.

Think that was more down to having your mate leading the line in the first half ;)

Saville was unlucky not to score in that one.
