Techy Stuff Help!

Cheers for the ideas. Will give me something to look into.

Oh, I should add - the reason I got a My Cloud in the first place is because I have a decently large blu-ray and DVD collection, and it was bugging me that it was so easy to stream Netflix or Amazon or whatever on any computer or TV in the house, but I could only watch physical media on the one TV in the living room with a disk player. So I ripped all those disks on my PC and stuck them on the My Cloud, and it meant that every device in the house could "watch a DVD" by streaming the rip off that just as easily as watching something on Netflix.

Might not be something you're interested in, but I know a few people who have wanted to get rid of all their physical media like DVDs and CDs in recent years to reduce clutter. YouTube Music is genuinely fantastic for making it easy when it comes to CDs - you just stick one you have in (or show it some music files you have on your computer, bought on iTunes for example) and it goes "Ah, you own that? Sweet, you can stream that now everywhere you go." There isn't anything like that for movies, though, and it pisses me off that the expectation is that you need to rebuy stuff off iTunes or Amazon Prime that you already paid for once - but now I can buy something once and watch it on every device, anywhere in the world.

Maybe a Machin-specific query: I'm creating a work schedule with Excel but need the weekends to block out jobs which run over a number of weeks. I can create a shape and move it forward or back but it doesn't stay at the top by default. Any ideas?

A Gantt chart in Excel?

Can't you just colour fill the cells?

No, not a Gantt chart, much more basic. Have coloured the cells in, however if I create a shape so it's possible to drag them about, they always sit over the top and thus render the fills obsolete.

If you want to see the coloured cells beneath the shape just change the opacity of the shape.

Thanks, but I want the shapes (jobs) to be masked when they stretch over a weekend, so making them less opaque doesn't work and naturally makes them harder to read against the weekday white background.

Can't you just do the weekends as shapes too rather than cell shading and then set the layering of shapes so weekends always sit on top?

Are you trying to show that you'll be working through the weekends or that weekends will be non-working periods?

That's what I've been trying but when you move a shape it pops up to the top. If I could find a way to keep the weekend blocks always on top I'd be sorted.

I've just put two different coloured shapes into Excel and moved them around and the layers stayed at front or back, it's got to be a setting that's doing that. I'll have a play and see what I can find.

I've had a real ball ache trying to get Chrome to work today. It wouldn't open anything saying I was unable to log in with a proxy (I was using NordVPN)
I've had to switch Nord off to get on here. Why would that be the case? Have I done something wrong setting it up as I haven't had a problem before, just wouldn't have it today

Think I've sorted it... Uninstalled Nord and then downloaded it again and it's working, for now

Anyone on here use or used AppSheet? - I'm trying to create an app for work and have followed all the instructions but for whatever reason, when I run the report the new information does not populate in(to) the report. I can't find an error in the workflows and have followed all the tutorials I've read to the letter so I'm at a loss.

The form going in is quite simple, an Excel list of items with associated information which pulls through beautifully and the output should be the same, except with an installation date added. All in, there are six columns so not at all a huge range of data to crunch.

Also, any similar app recommendations appreciated - cannot be massively technical for any user though, so no explicit coding or similar.

My first thought is that the new information isn't being stored properly, so when the report goes to pull the update, there's nothing "new" for it to display.

Strictly a high level theory; I've never worked with that service before.

Can anyone here get the Bet365 website to load using Firefox? I haven't been able to do so for a couple of weeks now. Just get the spinning circle and then the 'A script is slowing down your browser' notification bar. I've cleared cookies and data entirely - same result. Doesn't work in a private window either. It's fine in Chrome, so no big deal, just really annoying having to fire up another browser to use it.

Fine for me on mobile, is your browser up to date?

Just a quick one I’ve got a Gmail account with the exact same name as a outlook one. My outlook one will be deleted in 60 days will this wipe the gmail one to or will that remain unaffected?

I've asked this before but nothing has worked.

I have a yahoo.com mail account.
My calendar seems to think it is yahoo.co.uk, therefore when it emails me reminders for upcoming events, I cant read them.

How to I change my calendar to match my e-mail account?
