Techy Stuff Help!

That's done it! That was my first thought, but I didn't realize a shortcut had a file type. (Still, I've only had a computer for 25 years. Lots to learn yet.) Thank you very much, Andy.
You're more than welcome, you already had the answer but just didn't realise it.

Glad you got it sorted!

I'm looking for a blood oxygen monitor that works overnight - any recommendations?

You might do better posting this in the advice thread, Andy. (There seem to be plenty on Amazon, but I guess you know that already.)

Is upgrading laptop ram something one could easily diy, or is it something best left to the pros?
Cheers

Not usually possible at all these days - most are soldered on. Post up your laptop version and can check.

It's a Dell inspiron 15 3000
I know it's currently got 4gb, presumably 2x2gb. Could I just upgrade one strip, or do they both need to be the same?
Cheers

Is it just me, or have all BBC websites suffered a meltdown today? Can't get anything usable in either FF or Chrome.

all fine for me 10-15 mins ago, as well as earlier in the day (yes I am working hard!)

Thanks. Must be my ISP or something. All other sites seem fine. Very odd.

Portable audio. Assuming a lot of others use their phones for listening to music etc on the go.
My mp3 player has simply stopped working. I am deeply frustrated and need a new one.
For years I have gone with sony, purely because the sound quality works so well. Too many portable mp3 players have terrible sound quality, and phones do especially.
So, any recommendations from anyone as to what options exist? Looks to me like the mp3 player market is shrinking, so there is less choice out there, and it seems options are spend £600+ on something ridiculous, £200 on something overpriced, or £80-£100 on something that won't quite be what I want.
I need a minimum of 8gb, probably more tbh, and as I say, it is all about the sound quality for me!

Is a phone and headphone combo that can both do aptX HD not an option?

You can still get standalone mp3 players - we've been trying to find one for a student at work. They're mainly cheap Chinese efforts now from what we could find in our price range.

I think you are mostly out of luck at this price point - Spotify w/mobile phones has done for ipods etc
probably true. in googling it looks like this will be my last time I purchase one.
