The All New Alan Partridge Thread

The maitlis bit in the loft was brilliant, but really really cringey.

The piece with the reporter on betting machines (terminals) was brilliant

Fantastic episode tonight! Some of the tweets in the background, and the write-ups to John's TV shows were real hidden gems. The tweet about becoming a vegetarian and considering becoming a vegan is gold.

It's layers upon layers, like KMKYWAP was. I mean it's funny in itself, but knowing how ludicrous/awful Pebble Mill/The One Show were/are adds to it. Little touches everywhere, they've even got the awkward stairs that are too long from the 1994 set...

Fair to say they've borrowed heavily from Susanna Reid's dynamic with Piers Morgan, but fair enough on that one :icon_lol:

I thought the battle scene was brilliant,Chainmail under a puffa jacket, then just walking off telling the dog walkers he's just had a fight

Amazing clip - more Partridge-esque than Richard Madeley with the squatters.

I know I am in the minority but I had a very nice quiet 30 minutes, not laughing or smiling once.

I know I have similar tastes to others on this forum so why has this series left me cold?

Maybe I'm just turning into a grumpy old man. (PS I hate Piers Morgan and I am not him!)

Must admit, this series isn't as good as I'd hoped, some very funny parts but also some not so good and quite predictable in places for me anyway, I've loved every series of Partridge in the past but not so keen on this one.....maybe one series too many?

I don't think it's as good as it used to be. I smile at it, but it doesn't make me laugh.

I think it's been superb. The format of Partridge is always different whenever he appears in a new programme and this has been awesome - the cringe factor is as high as it was in KMKYWAP and the cutaway filmed segments have been tremendous, which take a lot from his one off documentary programmes like Scissored Isle.

It's also a great piss take of things like The One Show and I can't wait to see what happens to the character between now and the end of the series.

I have really enjoyed it!

For me, those 2 series of I'm Alan Partridge are as good as anything I've ever seen. KMKY was awesome too. The Gibbons brothers have tweaked him and he's not quite what he was. Still 8/10 and miles better than everything else on right now but he'll never get back to what he was. Them dayz is ovva like.

Missed last nights as was out - those who are 'Partridger's' liked it - those of us who aren't as committed seemed ambivalent.

Need to decide whether it's worth the time to watch on catch up

I'm Alan Partridge was the peak for me. Bordering on genius. But not really been that fussed by anything else Coogan has done, with the exception of the sublime The Trip.
