Look mate, you can't expect mums and kids to understand fancy words like that. They already can't count past 100.

You have to remember, it's not for people who like cricket. They will fill grounds with and have millions of tv viewers of people that don't like cricket. That is the plan.

Not only is it not for cricket fans, they alienated them from Day 1 and haven't made any attempt to get them back. I thought they'd fill their franchises with Pakistan and India players but that's not happening either. Then you have players playing for teams not associated with their home ground - Root in Nottingham, Stone in Leeds etc. They'll have a tv audience of sorts, but the grounds will be full of schoolkids given free tickets

I dont think they will get the TV audiences they hope for. They will get some cricket fans watching, but nowhere near the amount that watch other formats, and I dont think non-cricket fans will be rushing to watch it

They'll get a larger audience by virtue of having some games on terrestrial. The Wolves game against Burnley will be watched legally by more people than the League Cup Final on the same day just for that reason

His England Watch days are over, but Darren Stevens has a century. 45 next month.
Incredible player. He has 26 5 wkt hauls ALL achieved after age 35! He was a part time bowler before then. In one day cricket he is extremely unlucky not to have had a few games. He averages around 30 with bat and ball in that format in over 300 matches. 26 with bat and ball in t20s too. It’s only agism if it’s a word, that has stopped him. His record surpasses both Curran’s.
Just to put it all in context he made his debut before Andrew Strauss and is 11 months older than Strauss too!

Has anyone seen much of Ollie Robinson? He seems to often take wickets/score runs and apparently a call up is close. Is he the one that left Yorkshire after poor behaviour?

He is.

They're dropping some very unsubtle hints about him. I suspect he's in your Chapple/Bicknell/Roland-Jones mould than anything else but we'll see.

Heath Streak banned for eight years for match fixing. I thought better of the big man.

Banned for behaviour as a coach too, which in some ways is even worse - taking advantage of naive young players.

One to keep Cyber very happy.

Kent all-rounder Darren Stevens has become the oldest person since 1933 to be named as one of Wisden's five Cricketers of the Year.

Stevens, 44, is the fourth-oldest recipient of the award, which dates back to 1889.

A very deserving winner although I have to admit the Wisden awards always surprise me and I have no idea what they are based on. Sibley and Crawley have had decent (certainly no more than that) starts (no more than that) to their test careers and they are included. Biased as a Pear, but I'd rather someone like Stevens or Daryl Mitchell be recognised. The latter for his contribution to country cricket and the PCA. Stevens being included is a good start.

Crawley got his on the same basis as Rob Key did years ago, making one massive score in an English summer. Hope his Test career doesn't go the same way...

Notts are 63 for 4.

Notts haven't won a championship game in a long while (June 2018), I don't think we have either (well not last season anyway). Can't see this one being a draw given the weather forecast.
