Liam Lawson absolutely screwed out of the 2021 DTM title yesterday.

His initial main rival with a pathetic off the track lunge up the inside at T1 on L1 which put him to the back and he somehow avoids a penalty. Mercedes then engineer probably the worst case of team orders I've ever seen, demanding that two of their sister teams backed out of a lead of over 20 seconds to hand their guy the title. Grim.

Well Lewis is going to have to pass Max to win this one now. Would say that is doubtful as that Red Bull is incredible through s1.

More fucking weird strategic decisions from Mercedes. Net loss of 7.5s for the sake of 3 extra laps. Hmm.

Why has the race started so much earlier than qualifying did yesterday?

I agree, but Max has saved up enough of his tyres to to purple on the final lap. Mercedes gave up track position and that's always a risky game.

I don't normally watch F1 but it seemed like max was content to let Lewis get to about 2 seconds behind before he start really trying again.

Yeah he was saving his tyres to make sure he could push at the end. Looks like Max and Red Bull just have the edge at the moment

Who knows what would have happened if they’d led after the first corner. But bottas bottled it on the brakes. Should have blocked him off on the outside anyway but made it easy for him

Just re watched the start. Absolute bottle job by Bottas. Braked so much earlier than Hamilton and Verstappen.
