The FFS Burnley 1 Wolves 1 Verdict thread

What about ponce?

I've always took it to mean somebody that's a bit soft (or yampy... :icon_lol: ), maybe even a pussy, if you will. But for my Mrs, it's somebody that's always scabbing stuff off people. "can I ponce a fag", "fucks sake he's always poncing off me". Just weird.

Yampy is someone who's soft in the head, rahter than soft.
Yampy will screw with ,Alan

Just goes to show, different folk have different ideas what slang means. Ponce is the same as nonce to me, yampy is a bit nuts, ditsy, crazy if you like.....our dog is yampy

Ponce and nonce are massively different. One is often used as a derogatory term for a homosexual, the other is a term for a paedophile.

Still absolutely livid about yesterday, luckily I just missed the tele with the remote when that penalty went in or it would have cost me a fair bit to replace it. Yeah Vinagre was really good, he's definitely ready to play more and I think he will next season, Doherty's on a downward curve and I can see him being replaced, maybe by Jonny? Traore was quiet in the first half being deeper but soon put himself about when Podence went off and Jota was excellent, his body strength is amazing for his build.

Never a penalty, agreed we defended terribly in the last few but why should that negate the fact that Dean was wrong?

I guess I don't see what people saw in Vinagre yesterday. I don't remember anything noteworthy about his performance whatsoever. He didn't link up, rarely beat his man and I can't remember any decent crosses.

I thought he was solid. Was quite sensible with the ball, maybe could have been more confident 1v1 when attacking but there wasn't always a lot on in front of him.

Definitely gives us a nice balance as well as he can open the pitch out a bit. I hope he gets more game time.

Thought Vinagre was pretty good, beat his man a couple of times, won a corner I think? defended quite well too. Not outstanding but good enough, kept their wide man pushed back

It was good to see he stopped the endless stepovers. Seemed more focused and aware when on the ball.

I said to Cass that he looked a lot more mature and measured in what he was doing. He'll be a first teamer next season I reckon.

Just hope that is why he has been out of the team. The coachng team working with him ala Traore.

I mean I love his stepovers, they look equally fantastic and ludicrous but they acheive next to nothing

He still doesn't get involved enough in attacks to oust Jonny. No way he's gonna be a regular starter next season.

He was solid, nothing outstanding nothing bad. Offers balance which helps the team but I wouldn’t have been picking him out as having a great game.

Right Leicester gave us a get out of jail card, back in our hands and no time for fuck ups

I'm with your missus (ooh-err...), I didn't smoke during lockdown, but now the pubs are open I have ponced a couple of fags. I am from dahn sarf though...

That's consecutive Wednesdays where we have conceded last minute goals - something that would never have happened last season. Both times our defence was at fault, with players either switched off or making half-hearted efforts. Yesterday we looked nervous, but there has to be more to it than that. In the past we have been more like an old school Italian team - take the lead and then just see out the rest of the game. So what has gone wrong?

Pretty sure we conceded the ultimate of fucking annoying last minute goals last season
