The Film Thread

A shameless plug for my YouTube channel ! ! !

Well as a distraction from our last Melbourne lockdown I’ve set up and worked on my own YouTube channel, although it’s not for making money, probably more to do with self-satisfaction and ego more than anything else.

I have been uploading movie clips and compilations that I have created and edited from my vast digital library as I’ve always had a rather eclectic taste in films, albeit with a tendency to hark back towards the old rather than the new.

The channel name - WW Movie Clips - is an obvious play on you-know-what but is also partly based on my google account details. It has also allowed me to be quite distinctive with the branding, watermark and banner images for my channel as old gold and black stand out !

I'm also a huge fan of Laurel & Hardy. This timeless comedy duo have provided unbridled joy to countless millions and will do so forever and a day. Therefore, I have 2 dedicated playlists including all their comedy shorts.

Currently the channel has nearly 350 movie clips and 62 Laurel & Hardy shorts. There’s no reason why this won’t continue to grow into thousands of clips over time etc etc.

I will be endeavouring to upload 6-9 clips and/or compilations per week.

If you’re interested, take a look . . .

I managed 40 mins of Ep1 before I switched it off.

I'm a Beatles fan, but it bored me to tears. 7.5 hours of behind the scenes footage of them noodling around on guitar and chatting amongst each other? Sorry, I've got better things to waste my time on.

Went to watch Ghostbusters with my eldest daughter on Saturday, it was brilliant, far better than i expected, very enjoyable.

Maybe give it another shot, it really hits its stride in Ep2. Once you settle into its rhythm it's pretty transcendent. If you're interested in song-writing/ music /production it's a fascinating insight into the process, with some pretty magical moments, it just needs patience

I have. Decided to watch it in chunks. Its just that first half of Ep1 that was dull logistical rubbish.

After that's its been good.

Latest Spider-Man film is superb (two credit scenes too)

Also enjoying Hawkeye - episode five with a huge twist it seems

Not seeing Spidey until Sat morning, but am definitely enjoying Hawkeye more than I thought I would

It's just about ok. A bit of a pants version of the original film.
