Power of the Dog. Christ, good but fuck…

Summer of Soul on Disney Plus, about a black music festival that happened around the time of Woodstock, really enjoyed it.

The Social Dilemma on Netflix - about social media and how it's affecting society. Really quite scary, especially the impact it's having on children.

Anyone seen the trailer for Studio 666? Looks like a right laugh.

Anyone else think Eternals was shite?
Not so much shite, just boring.

It didn't need the jackanory first hour, just tell the story without explaining to us what is going on, we're not children, and Richard Madden didn't need to be in a power stance every scene.

The best bit was the two end credits scenes.

What a waste of a stellar cast and interesting set of characters.

It was boring Johnny, very disappointing.

As Marvel films go it was fairly average.

All the Marvel films are fairly average...

Nah, I don't actually know. I just remember thinking the first Avenger's movie was much, much less good than it was hyped to be. Fucking Joss Whedon.

Ragnarok was quite entertaining.

Blasphemy. The Marvel films are infinitely better than the DC ones.

This post may be influenced by slight bias as I have been collecting comics for decades and massively prefer Marvel to the Distinguished Competition.

I prefer DC's heroes but I'm not dumb enough to defend their attempts at filmmaking, not at all.

Give me the old Justice League cartoon and I'm set.

The 3 Nolan Batman films are better than any Marvel stuff.

Best comic book film by a considerable distance is Dredd with Karl Urban.

Dredd is fantastic. I have huge bias there as I bought 2000AD from prog 5 in 1979. Wish I had kept those early issues.

Not a film, but on the comic topic, I'm weirdly stoked on the idea of a Moon Knight show? Especially with Oscar Isaac as the protag.

How the fuck do you say something so absolutely spot on then destroy in your next breath? 😂

Don't get me wrong Dredd was good but it would have been miles better if they hadn't dropped so much 3D-centric stuff in it. Really took the jam out of my donut watching water drips and the like in slow motion. Plus Nolan's Batman movies piss over any other hero movie. Ever. Without even trying.

The Batman of Marvel. I'll be watching it.

Logan is really good, best comic book film I've seen outside of the Batman films.

Trailer looked meh to me. But I'll probably watch it regardless.

If the trailer is honest, it looks like exactly the type of thing I like from the whole "Cinematic Universe" thing happening right now; something that takes place within an established canon but which is wildly out of step with the tone of the other media in the universe.

It's one of the reasons I actually enjoyed Thor: Ragnarok (leaned into the comedy, courtesy of actual funny person Taika Waititi rather than only funny in the 90s person Joss Whedon) and truly adored Rogue One (leaned into the military aspect of SW in a very different way than the mainline films).

Scream 5 - Well made but a waste of time. It spends so much effort trying to be the first film, it errr... just ends up too much like the first film, but with new characters and a couple of old ones thrown in! It even tells you that's what it's doing in the first act!!

Pointless. 5/10.

That’s a shame, I’ll still watch it though as I’m a sucker for the Scream films!
