I see over on MM there's a discussion of how Wolves are making some noise about the new retro range of Goodyear shirts and pondering whether they are building up to the return of Goodyear to coincide with the rumoured tie up with Castore as shirt suppliers

I have that shirt with the Goodyear logo :)

There must be twenty of them. My 1991 shirt is with their logo and they were only replaced with Doritos when Jones was manager.

The Messi contract leak seems to be kicking up a fuss. Didn’t realise he’s on £123m a year.

There would be zero chance of Goodyear returning. It was all based on Goodyear being in Wolverhampton. I read a good article on them being sponsors and one of the things that came out of it is that when Wolves won, productivity went up at the factory. It (the deal) was all down to the MD at Goodyear at the time, who was a big Wolves fan.

Can't think of many big local companies left in/around Wolverhampton that'd sponsor us, the three off the top of my head are
Marstons, but they've got their own problems of no pubs being open, no money coming in, and a possible takeover for them
National express West Midlands, big company, again their income stream is down massively due to Covid
Jaguar Land Rover, possibility, but they're in the midst of upheaval chucking money as castle Bromwich plant to build electric cars there

If you ban betting companies to join drink and tobacco then then you are inevitably reducing the income stream from shirt sponsorship. That won't affect the big 6 who will always find a global blue chip partner, but presumably clubs like Wolves take it because it's the best money out there. Not saying it's the wrong thing to do, but economically it will hit

We could get Wolverhampton council to sponsor. :ROFLMAO: Biggest employer in Wolverhampton now. Followed by the NHS trust, University of Wolverhampton and the City of Wolverhampton college. Says a lot of where we are now as a town.

On a serious note JCB would match the colours. Not sure if PB is a Wolves fan, or even a football fan. He likes cars i know that.

What’s the ManbetX deal worth? Something like £10m for the year? Tiny portion of our turnover I reckon.

You could ask any number of the people he sacks annually at the first sniff of an issue and hires back on shitter contracts. The guy is literally a walking advertisement for ending capitalism.
I could if i knew any.
