It changes from 1st July according to the gruniad.

.... or earlier if you want

Ifab, the game’s lawmaking body, has now agreed a change, which comes into effect from 1 July. However, competitions have the flexibility to introduce changes prior to that date, Ifab said.

just seen the update on the date given and the FA have said they will use it from next season.

Shit rule but it has to stay in place to be fair. Obviously some confusion on this rule change as Nuno was asked earlier and he wasn't happy with a rule change this late in the season, so it seems everyone thought it was happening straight away

You'd still have some what should be legitimate goals chalked off then like the Rice one at Sheff Utd
I honestly don’t think that should be allowed. The rules need to be less binary and be more common sense. The game isn’t binary, there will always have to be shades of grey. If people can understand why something is given/not given then you will accept it better than being on the wrong end of a binary rule.

For me you can’t a clearance with your hand, drop in front of you and run through and score.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino confirms trials over new offside law. Infantino: “We will test potential change. We can think about a new law which allows a bit more attack in football. Arsene Wenger presented to us this morning.”

The easiest solution I have heard is that if *any* part of your body is onside, away you go. I can't be having these disallowed goals where someone points and they're off as a result. To me Werner was not offside last night.

Wenger wants clear daylight so I guess that is basically the same thing.

The issue isn't where you draw the line. The issue is understanding that it is impossible to be millimetre accurate on whether someone is off or not.
If they are clearly off by eyeballing a replay, give them off, if not then don't. None of this stupid lines business when we don't have cameras with the fps to be that accurate.
If you introduce this daylight rule and use it the way offside is currently being judged you will still have controversy.

As long as it's consistent I think it'll be much more palatable. No one wants to be offside by a toenail, but being offside because there is a slither of daylight is fine.

There will still be very, very marginal calls but it'll "feel" fairer

I’d have liked to have seen today’s Newcastle press conference. Frenzy’s mysteries, leaks. Apparently Bruce is the chief suspect but if nothing else he’s got the plot lines for his next masterpiece.

As someone said the technology isnt accurate enough for the lenghts they go to drawing the lines.
Watching the cricket today and their review system when its very tight going with umpires call.
Cant see why they cant go with linesman's call if it is not obvious (in other words need to take more then 1 look) one way or other.

Newcastle paid £6.5m for Steve Bruce to manage their team. I do wonder how Mike Ashley was ever a successful businessman, he does crazy things.

If they list a confidential payment, and there is only one thing it could be, then it's not really confidential is it?

If they hadn't sold Hillsborough to the owner - all the rage in the Championship these days and got rid of Bruce then they'd have lost £25m to go with the £35m they lost the previous year. Some going whilst being shite
