Think best we'll get is fines/deductions. No way they will expel them sadly. But something has to happen to prevent them even considering trying this shit again
Them playing reserves in the PL fucks it. We would be better off without them. Drop relegation and promote four from the Championship. 18 team league in one fell swoop and reduced workload for the Championship sides.

It’s pretty clear that UEFA are going to ban them so European qualification is going to look a bit silly with those six up top and ineligible.

Downside to this would be it saving the Stripey fuckers but needs must.

Exactly! Worse, a lot of the smaller clubs (Orient were one) were on board for this because it brought them some more money in the immediate future.
The mistake the US owners are making is that they truly believe everyone else thinks only about money. They are probably stunned that pretty much everyone has condemned this even though they have "promised" billions to trickle down the leagues. They just don't get it at all...

This is exactly what I'm thinking. Expulsion is all very dramatic and offers a sense of retribution, but I just can't see it happening in the real world. Fines, points deduction and a 2 season transfer embargo, and they'll carry on as normal within a year.

The way the PL was shrunk to 20 teams wasn't to remove promotion altogther, but promoting less teams each year.

They could always relegate the bottom two from the PL, and promote everyone who ends up in the Championship playoffs. I can't see a single downside with doing it that way.... ;)

Amazon have now joined the other broadcasters in denying that they are involved at all.

Apparently we've had our 18/19 title taken off of us on the basis that we did well against the big teams, so if those results are taken out Watford not only broke our hearts at Wembley but took the title too.

Two things to take from that,
1) someone has way to much time on their hands.
2) Everton under Moyes were very good against anybody outside the top 6. (His record against them was abysmal if I remember right)

Good job the recalculation didnt take away the title Leicester genuinely won. Needs to be left at 38 games clearly.

The greedy 6 should be deducted enough points to leave them all on 41 for this season – just to make sure WBA still go down.

Just have look at the state of Karl Henry Twitter feed

A safe bet in life is to always take the opposite opinion on current affairs to Karl Henry (c.f. Paul on TWF too)

It all comes down to money. Sports money comes from TV. TV is broadcast all over the world. It doesn't matter what any of us think - if there is enough money to be made from viewers in other countries, then anything can and will happen.
Maybe not this time, but eventually.
If they can make money from the ESL then the owners of MU (and all the clubs) will not care if they are completely kicked out of english football. Their fans don't live in Manchester, they live all over the world. The owners would be more than happy to play games in America, Africa, Asia. They would be very happy to have total control over their sport and work with tv companies to generate more money for everyone - so 4 quarters instead of 2 halves, more breaks for tv commercials, unlimited substitutions, etc etc.
Players not allowed to play for their country? - the clubs will be ecstatic. Players will go where the money is, and you can't blame them.
If the club owners believe that a ESL (or world soccer league) is how they make most money, then it is not if this happens, but when.

Different league but when Juve had their titles stripped, the results against them weren't excluded were they?
