If it's a US style salary cap then I'd be for that, but there is no way the largest clubs will vote for it. If there is one it'll be so big it'll be irrelevant.

Salary cap as a percentage of turnover might work. Would never be voted for though.

US salary cap works as there is no relegation and they have a draft which is equal for all (so they pay the same for theoretically top talent) and so the talent production for American football and Basketball is divorced from the clubs themselves.

The farm system in baseball works well (which is why the draft in that doesn't work well) and they don't have a salary cap but do have a luxury tax and it is prohibitive which is why the Yankees don't win the World Series every year anymore. That system could work as per the article.

A little bit? Its a huge step over the usual rumours and goes beyond the standard crappy "bantz"

Thankfully more people are calling out the issue than making jokes (still way too many on that side of things)

Didn't Man U used to be in favour of that? Their turnover was so much greater than anyone else that their wages as a % of turnover was just about the lowest in the league.

I had that Rodriguez rumour sent to me yesterday but thought it was too ridiculous to take seriously.

It’s ridiculous and it is encouraging people to laugh at a transgender journey. Which is a harrowing thing to go through and can rip families to pieces. Transgender should not be okay to be the butt of jokes.

Isn't a transgender butt just like any other?

Sorry, I am not trying to make fun of transgender people.

Just the £60m loss for Bournemouth in their last premier league season.

Got that back with sales last summer though

They'll be in the same boat as everyone to a point - no prize money for their league finish as their financial year ended 30 June, and the season hadn't finished. There'll also be some TV money missing. So while it won't be as much as we're "owed" (and we're due UEFA money too), that all falls into next year when it covers off at least some of that £60m.

They made sales worth £58m after the accounting period. These were delayed because of the extended season. I’m sure they have no particular problems, especially if they get back (which I hope doesn’t happen as their ground is pathetic in size).

Plus its a pig to get into & more importantly out of - despite being 'near' the coast don't even get a sea view when the entertainment is dire.

Agüero leaving City at the end of the season, no surprise in the end.

Off to Miami if you believe Americans (which you shouldn't).

He just can't stay fit now, shame. A proper great in the modern English game though, loads of spells where you just couldn't stop him scoring.
