does all this mean Big Sam will survive another season without being relegated from the Premier League?
It would mean Newcastle would become the most successful PL team if all the titles were redistributed!

Apparently the ESL are claiming that the 12 clubs involved at the moment have all signed contracts for 23 years, and that Uefa and Fifa can't stop it happening, according to their legal people. We will see.

I'm all for making an example of the 6 and chucking them out but am I the only one to feel sorry for the fans of those clubs....they've got no say at all what happens to their club

5 of them can form Phoenix Clubs, Man U already have Salford ;)

I have this horrible sinking feeling that this is going to be extremely popular, in spite of our protestations.

Doesn't seem that popular over here!

You Americans have always had a problem understanding the concept of promotion and relegation (not you personally, I'm sure) ;) :ROFLMAO:

It really depends on why people watch football.

A very large proportion of supporters from those 6 clubs support them because they are glory hunters, they don't go, they haven't experienced "bad" times, they don't go for social reasons, their reasons are VERY different to a lot of our fans.

totally, and that's my point. These types of fans will lap this up

I just don't believe that kind of demographic actually exists, much like the imaginary "US market" and "Asian market" that realises exactly no additional money every year.

It's not about additional money, it's about the clubs getting a larger % of what already exists. Those markets would spend less on the PL and the CL to redirect their spend in that direction. It doesn't work if they don't get Bayern or PSG though imo.

The Asian Market makes the PL a fair amount in TV and commercial rights.

The market are the people who sit on their arses watching "their" team on TV and will pay a fortune for the privilege, and have never even thought about actively going to Old Trafford or Anfield, that is the market, and they hugely outweigh "proper" fans. And there are millions of them in this country, let alone abroad.
