Announced that the 14 clubs have unanimously and vigorously rejected the ESL and state that any clubs who join it will be dealt with by PL rules.

The Premier League, alongside The FA, met with clubs today to discuss the immediate implications of the Super League proposal.

The 14 clubs at the meeting unanimously and vigorously rejected the plans for the competition.

The Premier League is considering all actions available to prevent it from progressing, as well as holding those Shareholders involved to account under its rules.

The League will continue to work with key stakeholders including fan groups, Government, UEFA, The FA, EFL, PFA and LMA to protect the best interests of the game and call on those clubs involved in the proposed competition to cease their involvement immediately.

The Premier League would like to thank fans and all stakeholders for the support they have shown this week on this significant issue.

The reaction proves just how much our open pyramid and football community means to people.

So basically, that PL rule I pointed out yesterday that would need a clear majority vote to push through isn't going to change, therefore confirming that the Greedy Six will face a potential punishment up to and including expulsion from the PL.

So what consequences for the 6 are within the PL rules?

It's this part that i hope they follow through with.

The Lancashire FA could become very rich overnight!

The statement suggests they could be expelled from the pyramid
The EFL have made it clear that they wouldn't welcome the Greedy Six either. I'm not sure how the National League feel about it, but I'm willing to bet that they're not particularly keen...

Sounds like the players are getting active. Emergency meeting of the Premier League captains has been called by Jordan Henderson

Think best we'll get is fines/deductions. No way they will expel them sadly. But something has to happen to prevent them even considering trying this shit again

Scary thought time.

If "Project Big Picture" had gone through, the Greedy Six could have just done this. Makes you wonder if this was part 2 of the plan all along...

Exactly! Worse, a lot of the smaller clubs (Orient were one) were on board for this because it brought them some more money in the immediate future.

This has been months in the making. It certainly wasn't an overnight process.
