I choose to give victims the benefit of the doubt.
So if someone accused you of rape but you knew you hadn't done it, presume you'd be happy for everyone to give the benefit of the doubt to the accuser in that case as well, or does this rule of yours just apply to other people?

If false reports were more prevalent, then this might be a concern. They're not, so I'm not particularly worried.

Worth reading Alan’s link. It’s a very emotive subject but false accusations are way less common that most men think they are.

I will reiterate though that these cases hit extremely close to home for me, so I am biased and my experiences have left me with enough scars that I likely always will be.

So take my harsh stance in these cases with the usual "oh it's just Alan posting" grain of salt.

Isn't that why nobody gets the benefit of the doubt and we have trials?

Between 2 and 10% isn't a small number when the stakes are so high, that's a lot of wrongly accused people lives totally destroyed, not to mention their families.

This logic would follow, except that getting to the trial in the first place can feel like climbing Everest with bare feet.

Trust me, I've tried. Granted, this was in the US so maybe the UK system is set up better.

Wait for the trial and let justice take its course. A large of rape cases don’t even get to the point of a charge. That would suggest the Police and CPS think there is a case to answer.

Sorry to hear that Alan, please understand I'm not meaning to have a go at you.

Unfortunately its a discrace here in the UK as well, a pathetic amount of reports end up in convictions.

No apology necessary! It brings out emotions on both sides. As you say, it's a very high stakes situation.

E is a belter too! With Barcelona a bit fucked up, they might lose out to Benfica.

Looking at that looks like the conference league has got rid of a lot of crap teams in the Europa league.

To add Spurs could be drawn against Lincoln Red Imps of Gibraltar.

Yep, Spurs for one...

I like the Conference League as it has given some of the smaller teams something to play for rather than just 1 round in Europe and goodnight. The likes of the Red Imps getting an extended run in Europe is great for them.
